A&M is better than TCU on a consistent basis. WVU has played in a VERY watered down conference so it is difficult to tell if they are better than either.

A&M has one title from the 1930s and hasn't had a top 5 finish in close to 60 years. TCU had an undefeated season, top 5 finish and beat the Big 10 champ a year or 2 ago. WVU has been doing very well in BCS bowls so they have proven themselves outside of the Big East while Mizzou in BCS bowls is.....well.....it hasn't happened yet.

The SEC got worse with A&M & Mizzou. The Big 12 got better with TCU and WVU.

Those two will fit right in the big12, they schedule soft schedules. When WV does step up and schedule a decent team, 9 times out of 10 they lose.

During the regular season & the post season, the Big 12 was the 2nd best conference. In fact, for much of the regular season, the computers had the Big 12 as the best conference. Am I saying the elite of the Big 12 is better this past season than the elite of the SEC? Of course not.

Also, with WVU and TCU coming in for A&M and Mizzou, the Big 12 has become more difficult while the SEC has become easier. A&M and Mizzou are great additions for the SEC relative to eyeballs watching TVs and better TV contracts but purely in football terms, the Big 12 came out of realignment much better.

This whole conference issue is what has confused the aggies relative to recruiting. They think recruits will be more excited about them because they are in the SEC. Conference affiliation means more to them, and probably to you guys, than it does to Texas. Kids from the lonestar state grow up wanting to be a Longhorn and it has nothing to do with conference affiliation. They feel that being a Longhorn is special.

Remember, there's a reason why The Big 12 had to pick WVU. The SEC didn't want them. Heck, I don't even know if the ACC wanted them.

Could not disagree more! Especially A&M will not only enhance the conference in football, but they may the the BIG winners in all this conference shuffle. The A&M now gets out of the Texas shadow and selling the SEC, they can compete for the best players in the state of Texas.

Your argument is subjective. In my opinion, aTm tradition and potential > WVU tradition and potential. Mizzou stock = TCU stock.

Regardless, it's easy to say that the big 12 got better, they had alot of room to improve. On the other hand, How do you really improve the SEC? Add Ohio ST and USC? I mean really....... Come on man.

Are you really trying to have a debate about the overrated 12 vs the SEC? If getting Santos makes trolls like you go away by all means take him.

Skeet, are you hearing anything that's going on with Santos? You said yesterday he would be a Horn, but haven't posted since then. Is he still gone, or do you think that maybe the warm, fuzzy feeling has left and now the anger has set in that his home state school waited until 10 days before NSD to even give him a look and an offer? I hope he is angry, because that will help him to make the right decision to play for the Vols!

This is about as ignorant a post that I have read on here lately - and there have been some dandies. TCU/WVU will be joining a woosey no-defense conference, so they can continue their ways; then go lay an egg against the better teams. TCU's Rose Bowl win albeit a good one, was not against a better SEC program and it was a one shot wonder as everyone knows. WVU benefitted from being in a crappy conference that was assigned a BCS Bowl back when Miami was in it and winning.

A&M and Mizzou will have to toughen up or be run over. That tends to improve your program a great deal. At least they weren't chicken to play week in and week out against the big boys like y'all.

Comparing apples to oranges... SEC added two teams; big 12 replaced those two. Only way to get worse by adding teams would have been if we had added some school from a non-bcs conference or something. But why the hell would anyone do that...?

Chris, please do not post here anymore. Matt got benched and Major Applewhite was better than you. It's time to stop being bitter.

It really upsets me that my relatives left the hallowed hills of Tennessee to go whip the Mexicans so there could be a Texas.

I hope we keep DS simply because he is a big ole' meathead that can help plug the middle but if his dream is to play for UT-lite then cut the cord. We shouldn't hate on him. Just forget about him because if he chooses them he becomes totally useless and irrelevant to us and to anyone else in the BCS monopoly that is the SEC.

As long as we keep Otha (better LBx2) and any recruit whose last name starts with "Mc" then I'm chilly.
