Well, I have gone crazy

Tennessee needs to stop relying on the 3. Ramar and JuJaun both need to get to the basket instead of JuJaun jacking up 30 footers with a hand in his face. Ramar doesn't shoot much outside, but you have to quiestion JuJaun's shot selection at times
We might stop relying on this type of advice first, K?

We don't need to stop, but I think JuJaun puts up some quiestionable shots at times when we need to give Lofton a touch.

I took the Vols to win in the SEC Tournament, because it was only five bucks, and as you say, it would have ripped me up to take UF over UT. That did not exactly work out.

Our NCAA pool is more than five dollars, so I'm less likely to be a naked homer. I have us getting to the round of 16, obviously, but losing to OSU after that. If UT had any past level of success in the postseason I'd've been more optimistic, but frankly it's just hard to imagine us winning more than two games at this point. I would be happy to be proved stupid and wrong; were UT to make it to the round of eight (or farther!), I'd be delighted to just throw the whole bracket and wager out right now.

This is definately one of the toughest times of the year now that we have a good basketball team. It feels like I'm selling off my soul picking against them - yet it must be done. Heck I have four other brackets to fill out w/o putting the Vols as champs on the ESPN Tournament Challenge - so there's still a chance of winning, albeit a million to one odds.

I'd be happy to win two games. I would think it was a succesfull tournament.:good!:

Maybe he did not mean that we ought to just abandon the three-point shot, since we at times do it very well, but rather that we ought to consistently have a reasonable Plan B for when the three isn't falling. Because at times we don't appear to.

I don't think it's an on/off type thing.

Absolutely. Lose the first one, and it's a crushing disappointment. Lose the second one, and it's just a disappointment. Win those two, though, and you have a successful tourney. Anything after that is just varying gradations of new levels of basketball giddiness. You get much beyond those two wins and you might as well start figuring out which street Pearl is going to have named after him.

I just think that we're not as consistent at times shooting the three and we may need to try to drive to the basket and also feed our big guys. Then when the defense tries to stop us down low we can kick it out and hopefully start knocking some 3's down.

I really had a hard time with this as I had the Vols beating OSU in 2 brackets. Even going to the finals in one because I think Texas will win their bracket and face UT in the Final Four. Been there, done that. I know teams have changed, but UT has proven they can hang with the elite when on. Wishful thinking.... or is it?

I think we can play with anybody in the country when we're on -- and by on, I mean that the threes are falling. We could have beaten any team in the country the night we played Florida a few weeks ago. But when we're not shooting well, we just don't have enough of an inside game to work through it. I don't know that we shoot consistently enough to be able to win four to six games in a row in the tourney.

As I said above, though, I'd be happy to be wrong and eat crow about this. And if we win the whole thing, I mean that I will literally FIND, KILL, AND INGEST A CROW. Happily!

I agree, when we're on, we're on. I just wish that we could get our post players going to make us have some sort of an inside threat
In the first half of the Florida game we looked incredible.

USA Today has us at 30-1 to win the whole shmear. That's better than Wright State, at like three sextillion to one.

That said, I have us getting hot and losing to the Cards in the round of 8. Woohoo! Go Vols!

They just need to be ready to go. When they play hard and the D is up in their faces, they are awesome. Play with passion.

I put the Vols in my Final Four.

I can't think of a great way to say this, so picking OSU over Tenneessee sort of "ripped my soul in half."

I don't pick teams who are necessarily favored to win, but teams I want to win and think have a shot. Might be stupid, but I'd rather go down swinging. So I have the Vols making a run to the Elite 8.

I'm much more worried about the first round game than the second. If we shake off the rust and play confident and relaxed, we'll win a couple more.

I put UT in my Final Four as well. Mostly wishful thinking, but it is only a 16 team/4 game tournament to get to The Final Four. When UT is rolling they can compete with anyone.

I have Louisville finishing them in Kentucky thanks to the gift the Committee handed them.

I had the Vols vs Tiger High in the Elite 8.

Same for me. I picked Tiger High in that one, but will be more than happy to win the game and lose my bracket.
