Cedric Houston came to mind for most underrated but i have not seen Jay Graham's name mentioned......so now i gotta say Graham most underrated!

Hard to forget his fumbles. He would get his due for his physical skill if he hadn't had fumblitis at UT. It wasn't just that he fumbled, it was WHEN he fumbled. Also, if he still fumbled the ball with the Texans like he did at UT he wouldn't be a Pro Bowler...he wouldn't even be starting.

He didn't fumble that much at UT. It's been debated on here. Your side lost.

Sure he does. Everyone I respect as a knowledgable fan has him in their top 5. I would take him over Lewis every single day and twice on Sunday.

I'm not taking a side. I'm just pointing out why people trash him. It's the timing of his fumbles that does him in when people talk about him. My goodness you people are touchy and contentious.

I believe the best RB we've had was Travis Henry.....he was just amazing.

The most underrated has to be Arian Foster....all the ridicule he received while at UT, and the man was just a few yards of being the school's all time leading rusher (and would've gotten it if he wasn't benched his Sr season).

What? If anything, he was overrated while at Tennessee. He was a solid back but he is only as high as he is in the record books because he was a starter for 3.5 years. Somebody like Hardesty was truly underrated.

Who was it that did the research on his fumbling? Was his fumbling either in line with the average or less than average? Either way, he's remembered in that light because of when he fumbled. He seemingly never fumbled in non-key situations and it seems like his fumbles always cost the team in the worst way.

His NFL career has come from absolutely nowhere and frankly I'm absolutely stunned by it.

Cobb, Webb and Lewis (pre-injury)

Honorable mentions:
Graham, Henry, Stephens and Hardesty

Underrated:
Tony Thompson (little engine that could!), Little Man Stewart, Foster and Garner

Wasn't Bryson considered a Fullback? Besides him being underrated, what bout Mose Philips.

Under rated was Johnnie Jones. Played in an era when coaches did not believe in playing a lot of freshmen and sophomores. If he would have played all 4 years, he would have put up numbers that would have been hard to beat. I think that he was the one of the first running backs in UT history to rush for 1,000 yards in a season.

Webb was the best by far. A perfect blend of speed and power. Excellent vision. Used blocks extremely well. See his long run in the 1990 Cotton Bowl.

I'm going to have to go with Hardesty for most underrated. He had a very good 2009 season without the benefit of a really good offensive line.

I think he only had five fumbles in his career at UT. His game in the loss to Vandy was one of the best I have seen. Foster was a very good back at UT. I would have liked to see him running in a zone blocking scheme here similar to what Kiffin put in. He is a good put the foot down, make one cut and get downfield running back.

This article said he had 11 but somehow only managed to lose 4. When he did lose a fumble, it sure was costly.
