Best RB in UT history and most underrated RB?

I would have gone Aaron Hayden, but both were underrated due to the fact they had to share carries with each other and Jay Graham

I am with you. I was always a fan of Hayden. Just think that Hayden, Stewart, and Garner had over 7,000 yds between them in there careers, all playing during the same time frame. On top of that, behind those three we had Jay Graham waiting in the wings!!!

I still remember when Hayden broke his leg, that sucked.

We'd kill for just one of those guys right now!

charlie garner

I would definetly have him in the top 10. He played only 2 years and shared carries with Little Man, Hayden, Heisman Heath, and others. How bout Tony Thompson for underated? Watching he and Greg Amsler against uva was a great memory as a young vol fan.

Best = Chuck Webb. Power, speed, elusivieness, explosive first step and took it to the defense every snap.

Most underrated = Johnny Jones. Best cut-back & off-tackle runner I watched at UT. Very durable, as well. Carried the ball around 30 times per game & I think he pounded the rock more than 40 times, once.

And, yes...go SEC...we got another one...but its purely depressing watching this. We've got a long way to go.

I couldn't care less about the other SEC teams and what they win. Actually, I believe that their success hurts us when recruiting against those schools. I apologize. That was a little off topic.

Good call on Bryson! I will never forget being in Neyland when he broke that run in the '98 Fla game. He could fly! Decent NFL career too.

Bryson at FB when playing at Tennessee; was the fastest RB in the 40 that year at the combine. Got drafted high because of his size and speed combo.

Best: Webb
Underrated: Travis Stephens

I wanted to say Tony Thompson as the underrated player but after all almost any back would have been on the bench with Webb and Cobb. I still remember the great year he had. He helped get Tennessee to the Sugar Bowl along with UF being in trouble.

Yes...it's off topic, but I agree with you...the "go SEC" was a bit tongue in cheek. BUT, it does beat watching somebody like Ok State, Cal or others you can name boing fo the thing....but you really can't enjoy watching it.
