Spin it how you want, but cancelling his visit is a bad sign. After Wilcox and Sirmon left, dad wasn't happy. Seems like Dalton may be coming around to his way of thinking.

It would have been enormous to have him here this weekend with his family, especially with a dozen other recruits in town.

What was it O'Brien said? Santos went from recruiting him to him recruiting Santos?

The writing is pretty much on the wall with this one.

UT needs to hurry up with the DC hire. I would hate to see UT lose such an elite recruit such as Santos over that.

A DC would really help, obviously. But I'm staying optimistic. He wants to play in the SEC. He's made that very clear. So, I couldn't care less what BS Urby is going to feed him. They're very far from home and have penalties to serve. He loved UT, which is why he committed in the first place. I'm not worried about Arky. The only place I'm worried about is A&M back in the race. But, at the end of the day, Sumlin is a offensive-minded coach. I have a strong feeling A&M will struggle in the SEC with him at the helm.

I'm trying to stay positive with all these little girls in this place throwing themselves pitty-parties.

I've been very positive over this DC hire as well. And I've been trying my best to be patient. I understand it isn't an easy process and it takes time to make a right hire.

I just would truly hate for UT to start losing some of this recruiting class. Bc UT's recruiting class had a very strong nucleus of players that I feel like had the potential to take UT back to the top of the SEC. Especially on the defensive side. The UT defensive trio of McNeil, Santos, and Peters is a trio I wouldn't trade for too many others. I feel like that's a special group of players right there that could be fixtures on UT's defenses for years as well as All-SEC performers. It would be disappointing and stressful to lose any of these recruits because of taking too long to hire a DC, IMO.

tombom...do I need to post Kermit for you? :)

yes please. i mean i understand it was an unofficial. but in the long term view of things, im glad dooley is taking his time to make the right hire. i like many wanted a quick fix, but life isn't like that.

It may not have been my greatest post ever, but I never once said he owed UT anything. It's a free country, he can go wherever he wants.
I've followed his recruitment, and he's said some fairly immature things, and I was just speculating that rooming with a guy like Danny Obrien that has handled the process very well, might do him some good.
Just stating opinion and highly speculative at that, not meant to be a post based on fact.

He hasnt handled anything wrong. The guy's recruiter and defensive coordinator left and he doesn't have a clue who will be coaching him, what system he will be going in, who else is still coming, if his parents like the campus, etc. He's blindly trusting Dooley at this point which doesn't sound fun to me. If he does not come here it will be Dooley's fault. And no before everyone goes crazy, if he doesnt come it wont be the end of the world, but preferably I'd have a player like him than not have one.

If he's gonna decommit, I wish he'd go ahead and do it. Richie Brown's odds have to increase w/o this badazz committed.

With indications being Dooley is working in more 3-4 schemes moving ahead in Knoxville could be a pretty nice spot for Dalton to work on his chops. Definite opportunity for a big fast linebacker.
