Watching him at the UA game I kept being amazed at how huge he is, and yet still moved like a much smaller LB. Showed me everything I needed to know about his coverage ability. Amazing drops for a high school LB. Plenty of football speed. And the goalline stand was a highlight for Collins, but Santos and Goldman did all the work.

Can I be part of the ★★★★★ club?
5 star #1 LB Chris Donald was a complete flop and never saw the field. Stars don't miss as much as they hit but they miss a lot. I remember 4 star Slick Shelley should have started just based on a cool name alone but he never saw the field either. Oh and 3 star Travis Stephens...well... it goes on and on...

Shelly finally caught on late and after he transferred to Tulsa. He was their #1 reciever after finally developing and he was great even against the better competition.

For every 5* busts there are 1,000 3* guys that you never hear about.
For every Chris Donald and Jerod Askew, there's a ton of Josh Hawkins, Tyler Maples, Daryl Vereens, Dorian Davis, Chase Nelsons, Blake Garretsons, etc.
If star ratings and recruiting rankings don't matter, tell that to USC, Ohio State, Texas, Alabama, LSU, Florida, etc who are always in the top 5-10 in the polls which coincides with their recruiting rankings.
What are you going to say? Boise State? I say... play in a real conference.

I agree that the stars are a good indicator of a player's potential, but I think when there is as much discrepancy as there is with Santos it's fair to be questionable. Ultimately a ton o factors play into how a player develops. Take Randall Conb for example. At UT he likely wouldn't have been THE guy, and he may not have played with the chip on his shoulder that he did at Kentucky. Who knows...
