Arnett to transfer?

Explain how it's too tough of a stance when all other D-1 programs follow the same protocol. It's easy to act all noble and whatnot, but it is a business. A business in which Tennessee's HC is trying to keep his job. You don't let some 18-19 year old kid just leave because he is homesick

Besides, funny how you glossed over the point that his Dad was sick when he committed. Where was the concern for dear old Dad then?

just a couple quick, glossy, points.

His dad took a turn for the worse in the middle of the season. (that is what I am hearing)

His relationship has not always been great with his dad, but it is something that was being worked on. (that is what I am hearing)

Im not close personal friends of the family or anything, but it is my understanding that they had intended to spend more time in Knoxville and things just are not working out that way because of his dads health. (again, just what I am hearing)

EDIT: and yes it is a business. But sometimes you have to cut the rope and move on to the next kid. It would be best for the reputation of the program to let this kid leave. That is all.

No reason not to release him to any school in MI he wants to attend, but only in MI. It's up to the NCAA, not DD if he will have to sit a year or not.

For anybody pissed, do you get equally as mad when the coaches "encourage" players to leave?

Wes Rucker just said that DA has tweeted that he hasn't talked to anyone about leaving yet.

Yep Arnett has tweeted at least twice that he hasn't talked to anyone about leaving...yet.

So what if he leaves. It's his life, no matter how sick his father is he's still sick. And I have no problem with him leaving. It's not like he is gonna play us again. Hope he stays though

He is acting like nothing has changed. Sort of confused. I think most of us accepted it if he is leaving. I know he likes the attention , but why deny it if it's no longer a rumor? Is he just playing the game again? I mean , any chance the media jumped the gun on this one like they did with Da'rick? I think he is gone , but if he isn't he should let it be known. Reminds me of his recruitment all over again. I don't have a twitter account , but I looked at what was posted here. I checked it out and he is giving a shout out to all of his new followers. I'm just calling it like I see it. He doesn't seem too upset. It comes across like .... I want the attention , but I don't if it's personal. He can't have it both ways. Good luck to him , but he needs to make it clear what he wants to do. His recruitment was fun to watch , but if he is playing games now , well it's just pretty pathedic considering the situation. I'm not bashing him , just calling it like it is. "Stop speculating" ... ok , will do if you give an honest response. Claiming that people are speaking for him and they are wrong is just confusing.

someone in his family told VQ writer last night he was requesting a release. there could be several different reasons for what he is now saying and it might be too early to determine why the change in his position.

Maybe CDD told him he would not release him at this time. If he doesn't, then there is a 2 year sitting period for a true freshman that leaves in the middle of his freshman season.

that is one possible answer but I don't know why..

9 hours? Wrong. It's 1 hour and 15 minutes. Or, if he walks....Come on, man!

I commuted Lansing to Cookeville for 9 months. It is an extra hour from Lansing to Saginaw. That is pretty comparable to Saginaw to Knoxville. Not exact but pretty close.

DRIVING: Lansing to Cookeville is 8.5 hours at 80mph and only stopping for gas and pee break.

(7.5 hrs if you are headed back to kick your father in laws butt.)

Cost: $160 gas + food for 6 passengers

Flying Saginaw to Knoxville: $733 per person.
Detroit to Knoxville $433 per person with stops in Chicago and Philly. 7hrs travel time.

Plus you have to add in the 2 hours travel time from Saginaw to detroit.

I do not know the financial makeup of the Arnett family, but that is pretty costly. But as a alsoaGatorFan, I would love for any of you to pick up that tab for them, just sent the reciepts to tNCAA.

Asking a Gator fan who openly refers to the area as "Redneckville, TN" his opinion on anything UT is ironic and sad. As if this jort wearing goof has an inside scoop on the matter.

I am referring to Cookeville, not Knoxville. ANd my kid is an athlete at UT. I think I qualify here.

:hi:

EDIT: Id live in Knoxville in a hearbeat if I could find the work. Will be there on the 3rd with resume' in hand.

Yeah , it's pretty confusing. Thanks for the info Larry. I know it's an opinion , but it does make some sense on the possible chance that he isn't leaving. I still think he is gone. You feel the same? I hope he stays , but I'd like for him to want to be here.

could also be saying that he hasnt "spoken to anyone" at MSU or um.

The quotes Im seeing only talk about not speaking to anyone, doesnt say that he didnt submit a request. That can be done, and allegedly has been done, by email.

I would wear a Vols tie to my interview if it would get me the right job.

The job here in Cookeville is a decent job, but needing much more to keep me busy. (and doesnt pay well. Economy took my perfect job away 3 years ago)

Hang in there! I spent four year in Cookeville. There are a lot worse places to be. Good luck in your search!

He "could be" saying alot of things , but he isn't. The only thing he has said is he hasn't talked to anyone and not to speculate. That seems to be what you and the rest of us are doing here because he hasn't made his intentions clear to anyone.

Well, except:
"the Tennessee program isn't the right fit for me or my family."

My apologies. And I agree, wouldn't want to live in Cookeville either.

Looks like Central Michigan Univ just picked up a nice WR.

His words or his family? I've read the article on GVX , but it makes me wonder if he actually said it. Look , I want him to do what is best for him , but don't go on twitter and talk about "how bad it is" and "I haven't talked to anyone" if that's not the truth.
