'12 SC WR Quinshad Davis

The real question is when is this staff going to land a big time back. Not decent, solid, or servicable.. I'm talking elite. It's the missing piece of the puzzle for the next couple years because I don't think Lane can carry that load.

I think Lane, Smith, and DY need to get a chance. They were all playing as TF and sometimes it takes a year to get up to SEC speed. I could see Smith and Lane being like Houston and Riggs Jr the year they both went for 1000 each. DY needs to be utilized on screens and on wheel routes out of the backfield. Landing a top 10 type back is never a bad thing, but we have backs who can play in the SEC when the Oline is coached to put the effort into run blocking.

Tweet from Keith Niebuhr (KeithRIVALS) Keith Niebuhr (KeithRIVALS):

4-star WR Quinshad Davis of Gaffney, S.C. will offiical to #Tennessee on Jan. 20. He'll hit #WakeForest the previous weekend /// #Vols

BTW, 4-star WR Quinshad Davis of Gaffney, S.C. says #Alabama stopped by his school recently. He's not sure yet what the interest level is

SIAP

UT's interest in Quinshad is legit. May be another shakeup with a current commitment.

I won't say names, but if this player plays the same position as Davis, and is "shakened up", it would be disappointing, given how vocal he has been at recruiting others for us. Let's wait and see.

I hope you don't mean Bowles...that would be almost sickening

lol this is a message board...most of these parents/recruits are more in the know than we are

If it's a Wr (Howard recently committed, Croom was just visited and so was Bowles)
Did we visit Redding?

IIRC Redding said something about not having talked to the coaches in a while. I like him, but Davis is on another level IMO.

I remember JMOORE saying that a coach (think it was Hinshaw) visited Redding while also visiting Croom a week or so ago.

Anybody else think its possible that Lewis will be told to look elsewhere if we end getting a commitment from Lawrence? Not trying to stir anything up, but you have to think its a possibility.

Davis has 2 official visits currently set for Wake Forest and UT. He said he will be taking all 5 though. Speaks very highly of the Vols.

On the recruiting front, the 6-feet-3, 180-pounder, who finished with 2,009 receiving yards in 2011, said things have "really started picking up." Recently, Tennessee offered. Additionally, Alabama stopped by his school though he isn't sure at this point what the interest level is.
"I've got [an official visit] Jan. 20 to Tennessee and one Jan. 13 to Wake Forest," Davis said. "Right now, I don't have any others set, but I'm going to take all five"
Of the Vols, Davis said, "they'll be in the mix for sure." He added that "nobody is in front right now."
-Rivals.

I dont comment much on recruits unless they are from the upstate of SC...having said that, Davis likes UT and admires our two stud WR's!! We are in good as shape as anyone for this kid

We need to seal the deal. Don't think we get Patterson, and I don't care at all, as long as we get this guy. Plus 4 years to play is way better than a possible 1 and done
