Decompressing From The End Of The UT Game...

1. What violation? Marcus Camby took some things from an agent. Cal was neither named nor implicated in any wrongdoing.
2. What does the NBA have to do with it? I guess Tim Floyd and Rick Pitino can't coach because they had little success in the League.
3. AAU coaches are, on the whole, slime.
4. I'm completely confident in anything I say regarding Cal's future employment.

He knew what went on with Camby hat.. Of course they didn't couldn't prove it. And calling the AAU coaches slime, I'm not even going to say anything about that absurd statement.. I played in the AAU, some of the coaches are as genuine as they can get.

1. I guess you have proof that Cal was aware of the actions of Marcus Camby. The NCAA would be very interested to hear that, since they made findings that were directly contrary to your assertion and gave Cal a clean bill of ethical health when Memphis inquired prior to hiring John.
2. That's why I said "on the whole." I've coached AAU ball. There are some really good guys. However, at the elite level, there are a lot more guys like Myron Piggie than there are good people.

If John knew Camby was taking gifts from agents, why wouldn't he have steered him to his own agent in order to control the situation?

He more then likely did tell him to do that. But, I still have a feeling he could have done a better job of handeling it by inforcing a policy. A policy that if he indeed was taking these gifts,(when told not to) that he would be dismissed from the team.. What AAU team did you coach for?? I played for the TN Travelers.. I would like to keep debating the whole camby thing, but I have to get to class. Until next time hat.:hi:

How could he have enforced a policy? The benefits to Camby didn't come to light until he had already declared for the NBA Draft. If John didn't have any prior knowledge, and nobody has ever provided credible evidence that he did, he couldn't have taken action. I worked with a couple of Cincinnati based teams in the mid to late '90s. Which Travelers group did you play with?

You calling someone self important is like Rosie O'Donnell calling someone fat. Why don't you go on another rant about the greatness of Hakim Warrick? That epitomized your knowledge of the game of basketball. As far as my connection to Divison I basketball, I'm quite certain it's a fair piece closer than yours. You're just another bitter, whiney guy who loves to sit around and cry about how things were so much better in the good ole days. The game has long since passed guys like you by. Women's basketball is probably the best option for you now. You can probably keep up with it.
Here's the ignorance side of your argument. I MIGHT be 3 years older than you and played D1 basketball AND baseball on scholarship. You watched it and read about it. You've been around a program / programs. I've been in 'em. You were an all-state baseball player at the HS level and that's the extent of it, humor me more please. Unlike you, my experience doesn't end at working with some teams in Cincy and playing backwater HS baseball. You're experience is right up there with the team doc. Keep working that angle. I'll eventually succumb and call you blessed. You know, 'cause you've slept with more coaches than I could ever imagine. Kudos to you. You're convinced you can one up anybody and you're wrong. I would go into one of your long winded hyperbole laced analogies here, but what's the point. You're not bitter at all. You're better than everyone else and certainly more knowledgeable because you watch more, read more and sleep with the insiders more. Your sh*thead antics on here are not bitterness - it's pure superiority.

You're an idiotic armchair QB. No more. No less. Keep kidding yourself into believing what you'd like. By the by, I also taught Military History in an accredited history program at a school far superior to UT, so I'm likely more qualified to expound on Military History than most, except you ('cause you've worked with the HQs of several confederate / federal units).

So, you weren't a general. Hence, by your own standards, you are totally incapable of commenting intelligently. It's also instructive to find out how old you are now. Your animus towards guys like Melo and Iverson is perfectly clear. They are where you wanted to be, but couldn't get there. Just another bitter, player hating washout. It is instructive that you can't debate issues without issuing personal attacks. I attack opinions. You, on the other hand, lacking the intellectual resources to do so, resort to cheap personal attacks. That's why you are living in the big time in Jerkwater, Arkansas. Very impressive. I can only hope to get to such an exalted place at some point in my life.

Do you have "Glory Days' playing on a continuous loop on your iPod? Oh, that's right you're in Arkansas. Technology hasn't advanced beyond the cassette stage. Your having played in college is very valuable. It and $.75 will get you a copy of the USA Today, if they deliver said paper to Jerkwater.

What happened to this thread hat?? I thought we were having a clean debate.. This thread took a serious hit with the last 2 pages..

I did, too. Then another party decided to take personal shots at me. I simply replied in kind. I would be more than glad to continue the civil discussion you and I were having.

Hat, if this is how you decompress, I'd hate to see you in the courtroom. The witness box probably erupts upon 'cross.' :birgits_giggle:

We're obviously in the compressing mode at this particular point in time... :whistling:

I have no animus toward the players, especially Anthony. He's a legit talent. Don't wanna be them, couldn't care less what they have. Belittling my basketball and baseball is absolutely silly from a frickin' all-star wannabe. I was drafted to play pro baseball and wouldn't have ever dreamed of it. But you'd know about that, because you're uber informed and are the inside guy for all the greats.

I'm the one instigating the personal attacks? Stupidity. (I can't really support that because I don't remember your ever having been wrong.

As for my life in jerkwater, you'll do well to attain anything near my gig. Especially starting in the whole of a big city attorney. Hell, keep working for 7-8 years and you'll make partner. Then you'll really have arrived and will be able to go to even more games and hang out with the insiders. All the better because you'll be in heavenly Miami. Oh, if I were only a bit more successful and could have gone to law school. The dream of being a partner in a law firm. It almost makes me giddy. If I could just find a way to bill more hours and make a few hundred grand a year. Then I'd have to sell my house and downsize. Oh, if I could only.

And finally, if I could only be as civil as the example you set. But then, it's all just dreaming. You are smarter, live in a better place, have a better past, present and future, are joined at the hip with the best of the best in sports land, are a big, powerful attorney and watch lots of games. Please, can I get some of that.

Your inability to play in college makes me laugh. So I'll laugh while I read my paper and drink my coffee. Moreover, I'm gonna laugh even more at the fact that you're an attorney. I can't think of a worse living on earth, and to top it off, you think you have it better than I do, being all Cosmopolitan and so close to the teams and such. Can I be you for a day. I've heard that you've slept with John Calipari. Can that be true? Just mind boggling what a person you've grown to be.....and still so young. Are you a Who's Who guy?
