i can just hear the boy with the famous last name if he's still here five years from now, "one thing tennessee always does is kick the (bleep) outta vandy!" and the doolovers will be saying, 'ignore the record--he's our man!'.

The only thing that's a fact from dooleys 5 years of head coaching is that he's a loser. I don't even have confidence that he can go .500 in the sec

Kind of like Johnny Majors first five years.

1968 Iowa State 3–7
1969 Iowa State 3–7
1970 Iowa State 5–6
1971 Iowa State 8–4
1972 Iowa State 5–6–1
Iowa State: 24–30–1

again your post has nothing to do with my op but i would love for you to show me the facts that back up what you are saying. (Just a reminder) facts and rumors are not the same. Im going to go ahead and give you #1.

#1 He has a losing record. your turn champ.

#2 He lost to one of the worst Kentucky teams of the past 27 years. your turn champ.

Clay Travis has no one on the inside - he just spits out what he reads on boards. He doesn't like Dooley because he called him out at a press conference ("marbles in his mouth") and he won't give him access the way Coach Fulmer did.

Majors was not that great of a coach in his 28 seasons as head coach he only had 3 seasons where he hit double digits in wins.

it's more difficult when your season only consists of 10-11 games. He did happen to win a NC though

Please look at my post again. It was CJM first 5 years as a coach not at UT. But here is his first five years at UT.

1977 Tennessee 4–7 1–5 8th
1978 Tennessee 5–5–1 3–3 T–4th
1979 Tennessee 7–5 3–3 T–5th
1980 Tennessee 5–6 3–3 6th
1981 Tennessee 8–4 3–3 T–4th

lets hope that the similarities end in year 2.

In his 28 seasons as head coach he only had 7 season where he had 9 wins or more. 11 of his 28 seasons he was at .500 or worse. I'm too young to remember Majors as a coach, but from looking at his wiki page he only had two impressive seasons his 12-0 national championship at Pitt and his 11-1 season at UT.

I think Mr. Travis could certainly carry himself with more class but is entitled to his opinion. And I tend to agree with him.

Does the term "Iowa State" of the Big Whatever not mean anything to you? Dooley was in the WAC for 3 years and with UT for two years and still got the same result. You just proved Johnny Majors was a better coach at that point. Iowa State is the Vandy/kentucky equivalent.

Any idea of when this press conference was? I'd like to find a link to watch this part.
