Severe Weather Thread

hope your power returns soon...

Thanks, they got the branches off the wires this afternoon, so hopefully Met-Ed will fix the transformer soon. Living with my mother-in-law is bad enough but there is another storm brewing between her and my wife so I may more severe weather to add to this thread later.

Well, no visit by the Met-Ed guys today. Neighbor's cellar is flooding since his sump has been off for 4 days. They told us 95% chance we'll have power by Friday.

Day 5, Met-Ed says the transformer has to be replaced and since only 9 houses are affected we're low on the list.

It could get severe in Northeast Arky and parts of West Tennessee tomorrow night. It might be a slight risk, but still possible with the approach of the cold front and temps into the mid to upper 70's tomorrow.

With the approach of the new system, dont be surprised to see some isolated Tornadoes from Arky to West Tennessee, up through Illinois, Indiana, and southern Michigan.

Its something people should keep an eye on

Expect some areas of West Tennessee, East Arkansas, North Mississippi and West Kentucky to receive upwards of 8 inches of rain Sunday night into Monday

The soil is already saturated, so most of the rain will not soak in and will run off. This could lead to some flooding problems in low-lying areas.

The rain could be very hard at times, so flooding could be rapid, especially in flood prone areas.

Be safe and dont drive over flooded roads. You dont know if there is still a road underneath that water. In 2010, we rescued dozens that drove through flood waters and cars went into sinkholes in the road.

Snowing here in Memphis also. There is maybe 2 inches on the grass and about 125,245,215 wrecks around the city.

Watch for possibility of severe weather for Sunday night in parts of TN, MS, AR, AL. Possibility that some of the stronger storms could spawn tornadoes. Atmosphere will become more unstable as the cold front approaches Sunday night
