How the ole'....
"...I'd cheer for Tennessee if they were 0-12 and walk backwards both ways in 3 feet of snow to watch them play, because I'm a fan and you're not..."
...card got played in this thread amazes me.
I don't follow you.
I'm saying if you are an Oiler's fan and you can't understand all the love for Peyton, I guess you really don't understand the passion of the college game. I'll root, in the NFL, for Vol players. It's as simple as that. I enjoy watching the Oilers, even rooted FOR them when I had the chance to go to the Pats/Oilers game. I just don't understand how someone can describe themselves as bleeding orange, but say they didn't root for Peyton Manning, just because he plays for a division rival. I mean it's Peyton Manning. I know some Vol fans probably actually don't like him, but I simply cannot understand these folks because he has done nothing but great things for the University. I know he didn't win a national championship, but if you only respect or like QBs who win national titles, I guess you really don't like very many players, and we just don't see eye-to-eye on this, and that's fine. Otherwise, it's just plain illogical.
It doesn't really snow a lot in Knoxville, but yes, I would walk in the snow to a game. Backwards? No. And if they are 0-12, I think their season would probably be over, and I don't think they would qualify for a bowl game.
First of all, I have stated that I enjoy seeing former Vols do well. I just have a problem with the Titans "fan" who shows up to the Indy/Titans game wearing a Colts 18 jersey. As far as the "you like orange when we win, blah blah fire the coaches blah blah" I actually fall on the "fulmerite" side of the fence. I am very supporting of the current coaching staff and have never changed my stance nor have I been less of a fan when UT has a less that stellar year. Nice try on the whole predicting that I must be a fair weather fan though. If you are not an NFL fan I can understand rooting for PM and the colts. I can't help that I love NFL football and the Titans, although I can understand why you wouldn't becuase they have "miranda rights" Jones because God knows UT never has players with off the field issues. My whole point was that I don't understand how anyone can act like a titans fan when they constantly pull for the titans biggest rival. I am happy for PM and any other vol who has success in the NFL, I will just never pull for him over my hometown NFL team.If you "bleed orange", you would take more pride than that when a UT player does well. I think you like orange, when we win, but are probably one of those who want to fire all the coaches after every loss. If a two tone Oilers fan roots for Peyton, he/she probably have a previous link to UT, i.e. attended UT or grew up a Vol fan before the Nashville Oilers got here.
There are certain Vols, like Leonard Little and Albert Haynesworth that I refuse to cheer for, but those are for obvious reasons. Peyton has been nothing but a great ambassador for UT. If you don't like it, get over it. The Nashville Oilers are second fiddle and always will be. Anyone who wears one of those ugly, two-tone jerseys either doesn't own a mirror, doesn't know mirrors exist, is blind, has no taste in football, or has no self respect.
Go cheer for "Miranda Rights" Jones and wash your Betty George jersey you 2nd rate team lover.
"this is packman...and packman says to just wait 'till next year....packman will make Mr. wholesome pay....that's what packman says!!"I have no idea who you are reffering to when speaking of "thugs that talk about themselves in the third person" or Philly. If you are not a fan of the pro game and root for PM, fine....I was reffering to Titans fans who root for the Titans biggest rival because of PM. I don't know what planet your on right now but Vince Young will bring a lot more fan support from outside of Nashville than Cutler could dream of. It is not like Vanderbilt has some huge national following, and as far as in state support outside of Nashville Cutler is from Indiana so I don't really understand where your coming from with all of this.
I don't have a problem with anyone being from Tennessee and being a colts fan. I just don't like when self proclaimed titans fans seem to want Indy to win more than the Titans. As far as Pacman goes, trust me I am no fan of his antics, but he is not the leader of that team....Vince Young is and he is a stand up guy. I really don't know why I even opened this can of worms because I am a fan of PM, I probably should have just worded my original post a little different. GO VOLS!!"this is packman...and packman says to just wait 'till next year....packman will make Mr. wholesome pay....that's what packman says!!"
Are you serious, you are a Titan fan and you have no idea what I was refering to? I "pull" for thr Titans, but don't 'dis me for beinng from TN and being a bigger fan of Indy. It's like telling me to pull for a Iverson ted team rather than a Nash managed team. Just remember this is all in good fun.... I do understand your distress....
I know.....just messing...go vols....tip off any second:dance2:I don't have a problem with anyone being from Tennessee and being a colts fan.
