I'm actually a big fan of his. But.....what if the position were open? Do you all think it would draw the kind of interest the Florida job drew...where we pretty much get our pick of coaches. Or would we have to go searching and get shot down a few times like Bama.

If you don't like the question don't anser. I just thought it's an intersting thought and it's not the typical "Does Fulmer need to go" it's what if. I personally think it would be the most coveted position in the off season that year...regardless of what other positions are open

I don't think Tennessee would have quite as much appeal as Florida, per say, just because of the in-state talent issues.

However, it is nationally recognized as a perenially strong program with outstanding resources and support - and our administration has shown that it isn't prone to rash decisions in an undermining fashion, such as 'bama. Those factors alone would draw significant interest. At the end of the day, however, I don't think we would be fishing in the Saban/Spurrier/NFL type waters, I think we would look for an up and comer with proven success in a couple of different locations, kind of like Pearl. That is, if there wasn't a Tennessee guy out there with a good resume...

one day if the NFL doesnt get him first. With his penchant for detailed preparation I think he would be an excellent HC.

He will be Gov. of Tn or La. or both at the same time before being the HC at UT!

Peyton has stated that he would one day like to coach. I don't think it's out of the relm of possibility that he one day winds up at his alma matter. He would probably make an outstanding coach.

Honestly, I think when his playing days are over, the networks will have a bidding war for his services!

Peyton is already a coach and is beyond his years. That is what makes him the best qb to ever play the game and this statement will be certified this coming Sunday !

RT, I'm a huge PM fan as well, statisically speaking Peyton is one of the best to play the game.IMO Brady is the best overall QB to ever play the game until PM wins as many super bowls as he has.

Peyton is headed for a broadcast booth headset, not a coach's headset. And that is still at least five years down the road..

My name is OWH, and I .... aw, screw it...

Do not underestimate Peyton's competitive nature, the broadcast booth is not going to do it for him.
