Kellen Moore is in the Heisman discussion and Bray isn't is laughable

well i mean... deangelo williams got memphis ranked...

and he wasnt THAT great. and Cam Newton turned a mediocre auburn team into national champions... if youre heisman worthy you can make a HUGE difference to how a team performs.

First off that Memphis "team" is lots better than the current one.

Second, and this is the main point, a great player cannot make a lousy team a top 15 team. Now, depending somewhat on position, they can make a tremendous impact but that doesn't change the above truth. Taking the Newton example (literally) to the next level he's averaging almost 350ypg for the 1-3 Panthers.

Upshot; if a player is THAT good they will absolutely make difference...doesn't change the fact that the best player in the nation could play on a winless team if the talent around him was bad enough.

The Heisman is given to the player that ESPN campaigns for. ESPN picks its favorite candidate and promotes them.

For example:
Charles Woodson over Peyton Manning
Reggie Bush over Vince Young ( although he didn't pan out in the NFL he was a stud at Texas and deserved that trophy. Not to mention he ran all over USC in the National Championship. And yes, I know the award is given before the NC. But he still was the better of the two.)

Sometimes their candidate chokes it away and they quietly switch sides. This happened last year. If you remember through the first four or five games all the talk was about Terrel Prior and he was their horse. But then he showed that he couldn't win big games when he choked against Wisconsin. (this is something that Ohio State commonly does.)

Crazy post that can't be substantiated in any way

No. Brown was by far the best player in the country. Majors would even tell you Brown deserved that Heisman.

Brown's stats were not much better than Major's if fact it can be argued that Majors had a better all around year offensively. He had more total yards and just one less total touchdown. Out top of that Brown's team lost a couple of games and Majors lead an undefeated team.

Moore has 1137 yards 14 Tds and 4 INTs while Bray has 1328 yards 14 TDs and 2 INTs. Why is this? They play a very weak schedule with their toughest game being a Georgia team that is still up in the air. We'll see how Bray does against Georgia, but if he has a good game they need to replace Moore with Bray on the Heisman watch.

The other teams Boise has played are Toledo, Tulsa and Nevada and I believe Cincinnati is better than all of them

...the Heisman has been a joke since Peyton didn't win....people just don't pay as much attention to it as they once did.....

Racist, imo.

Peyton Manning never deserved the Heisman. He was anything but a "leader" at UT. Bray should blow every Manning record away IF he stays 4 years. I see a lot of experts projecting him as a #1 pick after next season so I doubt we get a chance to see if he can break his career records. One thing is for sure, Peyton will not own one single game or single season record by the time Bray is done. Bray is a much sharper QB at this point in his college career than Manning was.

This thread is stupid... Yes they do look at season stats... But for someone like Scam Newton who came in for a year and had amazing stats got it, but someone like Herschel who had amazing seasons had to wait till the end of his career to get it.. It honestly depends on what the voters are looking for. Also look what Kellen Moore has done and who hes beaten, and look who Bray has beaten... Honestly no one sadly, but Bray doesn't deserve the heisman unless he has an amazing season and we go undefeated the rest of the way out and win a NC.. Sorry to say, but Bray isn't going to win it this year, and you really can't even compare him to Kellen...

Food for thought...

Tyler Bray: 14 touchdown passes and two interceptions in four games.

Kellen Moore: 14 touchdown passes and 4 interceptions in four games.

Over his past 10 games dating to last season, Bray has thrown 32 touchdown passes.

The Heisman trophy is a joke anyways. Ingram won it and he wasnt even the best running back on his own team.

Peyton wasn't a leader? I hope Bray breaks his records, especially the wins.

Heisman = Matt Leinhart = fail = 2005 = no winner = Tebow = fail, which adds up to, damn, I was never good in math. Help me out here,,,just how many fails = the Heisman being a bit tarnished???

Hasn't every Heisman winning QB sucked in the NFL? I think it's a curse for QB's I rather him not win and be a great NFL QB like Manning. If I'm wrong let me know, just wondering.

Your post makes me laugh. I'll talk Bray up all day long, but KM has been doing this ish for 4 years. THAT is why he is in the race. Bray will be in it next year. Oh and KM is on a Boise team thats lost like 3 games in 4 years. Oh and BSU is a top 5 team. I think your argument would be better served asking why Denard Robinson is a Heisman candidate.

It also doesn't help he plays on a mediocre non top 25 team. Most who are in the discussion are top 10-15

Bill King said Bray was the best QB in the SEC and also the best prospect. Some people are starting to come around.
