Kellen Moore is in the Heisman discussion and Bray isn't is laughable

I don't think there has ever been a heisman on higher than a top 10 team. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that's accurate. We will have to make a bcs game for bray to be in the watch. Kinda like the mvp award in the nfl. You won't see a player on a losing team win it.

Tell that to Johnny Majors.

Boise is ranked UT ain't.

Fair or not thats how it is.

Bray could out throw Luck, Landry, and Moore finish 7-5, and not make the trip.

The Heisman Trophy has been a joke ever since Peyton lost.. Bet they are wishing they had that one back.. It will go to the best player on the best team.. KM prob won't win it because of their schedule...They will prob finish the season in the Top 5 even though it's crap they are even up there.. They have a good team and can Prepare as well as anyone for a big game.. I seriously doubt they could win week in and week out in the SEC... I would like to see how well they do in our OCT schedule... My guess is if Bama wins out.. It will go to Trent Richardson.. JMO..

the heisman candidate who plays on the team that has the best chance to play for the national championship is the player who'll get the most hype. espn pushes certain players who they feel will attract more viewers to the championship game. it's not about the best player anymore.

The good thing about this is that a season like this would almost certainly put Bray on top of a lot of Heisman lists to begin 2012.

Really!?!? Bray should be in the Heisman? No doubt he could be soon but he needs to accomplish more than he has.

Regardless of what people think they like to see a winning record, top ranked team, leadership, and top numbers/skill.

Older Heismans like 1956 have the feeling of a buyout added with racism. That's JMO

The thread starter seems very young.

In the voting of 1956 season,Paul Hornug Notre Dame was selected over Johnny Majors of Tenn. for the Heisman. ND that year was 3wins 5 losses. Tenn was 10-0 and played the toughest schedule in the country!

Wait, what? Your response makes me laugh. The Heisman Trophy isn't based on career stats. It's based on season stats. Good to see you didn't know that
The Heisman is based on whatever the voters want it to be. The award is and always has been a joke award. It will continue to be a joke award even after Tyler becomes the first Vol to win it next year.

The only reason people hate the Heisman is because they feel slighted that they haven't won it.

The Heisman is based on the top player on a team in the top 25. If you are on a team outside the top 25 it doesn't matter what you do every week you aren't going to win the Heisman. It's no longer based on the top player in the NCAA that season.

When was the last time the best player in the NCAA wasn't up for discussion in the Heisman.

Face it. If you're a 7-5 team, nobody on your team is the best player in college football.

To answer the OP, I love Bray but he shouldn't be in the running for Heisman.. IMO, the Heisman is nothing more than a popularity contest and I couldn't care less who wins it.. Not to mention it has never seemed to be a good omen for QB's

Moore has 1137 yards 14 Tds and 4 INTs while Bray has 1328 yards 14 TDs and 2 INTs. Why is this? They play a very weak schedule with their toughest game being a Georgia team that is still up in the air. We'll see how Bray does against Georgia, but if he has a good game they need to replace Moore with Bray on the Heisman watch.

The other teams Boise has played are Toledo, Tulsa and Nevada and I believe Cincinnati is better than all of them

The Heisman is a political campaign. It is given to great players but seldom is it actually given to the "best" CFB player. How would you even evaluate that anyway?

In short, Bray hasn't done the things necessary to win the Heisman and probably never will... but that has nothing to do with his relative quality as a QB.

It's not a popularity vote. If it was a popularity vote, Tim Tebow would have won it all 4 years. In the end, it goes to the best player on a team near the top of the polls. In my opinion, that's what it should do. You don't deserve to be awarded if your play doesn't elevate your team to the top 10-15.

If you go back and look at what Paul Hornung did that year, you'll understand why he won it.
