Pearl Painted Up

So the O'Connell center has an illustrious history of selling out?

Wait, you said Swamp before.

As to bball, hmmmm ... Ten years of losing records? Probably not, no. Main reason being that, by then, all new student body (times two generations, really), so they would not be as into it.

But it is one thing to say that you aren't going to go because your own team is not good versus saying you are going to make that effort and be there just because your team is, in fact, good.

Reason being that you can watch good men's bball on tv, even if your own team sucks.

HEY, that's an excellent point: Hey Jake, how many men's bball games do you watch a significant portion of each year that do not involve UT (say five minutes' worth of a game)? I'm betting you that you watch at least 20 of them each year, including the NCAA tourney.

Now, how many women's bball games, not involving UT, do you watch at least five minutes of?

That's what I thought.

We shall have to agree to disagree....
well don't do me any favors LG....your condesending and pompas attitude has really come out of late.

and it still doesn't remove the fact that your just plain wrong.

who the hell are you to judge someone? that's my only issue with your whole line of posts. who are you to say why someone should or should not root for a team?

i don't disagree with you in that Women's bball is boring.

i take issue with you saying someone that decides to root for them because they are good is pathetic. wrong word choice or not....that's what you said, and it's a ridiculous thing to post. it's called personal preference, and if you don't want to watch, fine, i think we all know you won't be watching. but where do you get off vilifying someone that does, even if they do only because they are good?

who exactly are you LG almighty?

Ok, so how long before the NCAA says coaches are not allowed to have their players attend other sporting events that coincide with their season? You know, like interrupting their study time or something.

Well, that's pathetic.

I'm with LG, he thinks women's basketball is boring, and guess what IT IS. Even the lady vols are just not that great. They can't hit 5 footers with someone on them, let alone 20 footers wide open.

Women's basketball is just not that appealing. And you guys get on LG for defending his position and he is forced to defend himself from about 5 different angles, so you Jake are free to misinterpret one part of his answer because he doesn't necessarily directly answer you.

People jumped on him but he didn't blow up at any of you, like Jake did at him. It is a stupid argument to begin with. Some like to watch the Lady Vols, some don't. He wasn't judging anyone, simply disagreeing with them. Give him a damn break. Geez.

Thanks but I did kind of jump on them a bit, too. And I did judge when I said that going to the game simply because your school is good at it is pathetic. That was pretty bad.

But I stand by the general sentiment, which is that I cannot understand why you would go to an athletic event in which you otherwise have no interest just because your team is good. I don't get it.

when i want your opinion, i'll ask for it, k?

Why do you ask?

I approve of going to see something when the product is good. You claim it as pathetic.

If you like the product in general, yes. I don't buy really good fishsticks just because they are really good, maybe even the best. Why? Because I don't like fishsticks.

But I bet you'll eat a steak, or whatever it is you like, even if it is not the best steak or whatever available. And you'll enjoy it.

first, i've never proclaimed to be a women's bball fan, think i've been fairly clear on that up to this point. i have stated a couple of times, that i agree with you about Women's bball being boring.

but he does have a point. i can't imagine that the O Dome's atmosphere and attendance was anywhere near what it is now prior to Billy D showing up and a couple of final fours.

i wonder if it is entirely possible that the reason so many people now turn out to see FL men's bball is because they are good.

dare i say that prior to them being good, that the atmosphere was probably lacking, and NOT a reason to attend??? could it be???

i guess that makes all those FL bball fans pathetic too? why else are they there? i can assure you if they weren't any good, the gator faithful would find themselves something else to do.........i beleive they did prior to Billy D's arrival and post season success.

Thanks, you made my point better than I did.

:eek:lol:

So you don't like being challenged?
challenged? what are you challenging me to? a typing race? who can click "quick reply" the fastest?
realx jr. i simply don't care about what you have to say, that's all.

There are different meanings to the word challenge. It's not just a verb pal. And The reason why I was giving you my opinion in the first place is because I really didn't care for what you had to say and I thought the argument you were having was acinine, pointless, pathetic, and not worth a lot of people's time. So in that sense I was trying to just put an end to it.

As for the challenge thing again, if you were a little more bright you'd know that I wasn't challenging you TO something, I was challenging your opinion, which can be done too. But way to make your mental capacity known, now I won't have to take you as seriously.

yep, you are correct. but you said "you don't enjoy being challenged"

challenge can be a noun. i.e UTCLA presented a challenge to jakez4ut.

Challenged is a verb. i.e.UTCLA challenged Jakez4ut.

oh, and it's "if you were a little brighter".

thanks, i'll work on being more bright.

that lesson was free by the way....next one costs.

"The PTI guys usually get a kick out of Pearl, I bet they'll mention it tomorrow."

Good call...the PTI guys were applauding, although Wilbon doubted it would help recruiting.
