I don't think that A&M would weaken our conference. They have great tradition, and love football like an SEC school. I do believe they would be a middle of the road team at best. A&M is supposed to have one of their best seasons in a while this year, and would have to fight to finished 3rd or 4th in the SEC West. If I was an A&M fan, I wouldn't want to come over.

you probably dont remember A&M in the 90's were they were consistently a top 15-20 team. Fran ruined the A&M program. Sherman is building it back up.

Arky, UA, AU, OM, MSU, LSU, and two from the East. Who, pray tell, does your top 25 team beat out of that bunch? I may be mistaken but I thought I saw a lot of shotgun with A&M last year.

we beat Arky, AU, OM, MSU, and depending on which team it is from the east. we would also play LSU close, and depending if it was at Kyle Field, i might take A&M in that one.

No, maybe, yes, no, and no.

No offense, but you wouldn't beat LSU this year home or away. The only reason I think UT has a chance this year is because of the drama that unfolded last year. Revenge is fuel to a fire.

For those that believe Tennessee will lose Santos if TAMU joins the SEC...I say consider this...Santos chose Tennessee over Alabama to play in the SEC. He has a very good relationship w/ the coaching staff, particularly CPS. Relax, Santos is and will remain a VOL.

Probable (additional) team scenario's "IF" TAMU were to join---

Not likely:
FSU & Miami > No, FL will object
GT > No, UGA will object
Furthermore, FSU, Miami, and VT like their position in the ACC.
OU > don't see this happening
OSU > ditto

Three possibilities:
Clemson > offers a solid athletic program and an SEC / NFL size stadium. *So. Carolina may resist
Louisville > offers a good athletic program. *Kentucky may resist.
Missouri > of all the Big 12 teams, Mizzou seems to be mentioned most.
*Clemson and Louisville have a better chance overcoming objection than would FSU, GT, or Miami. IMO.

For the sake of argument, there's still too much that needs to be worked out, 2013, IMO, would be the earliest "IF" this were to happen.

All due respect,Texas Aggie, "IF" TAMU were to join the SEC, the Aggies will be and will remain a mid-tier SEC team.

I don't know about Clemson. I think USCe would object.

I don't think anyone (Sliver) would care if USCjr objects. Just curious, why do you think jr would object anyway.....they already play every year.

They probably don't want their annual instate rivalries (FSU, Clemson, GT) to affect their conference records should they end in losses. At this point, Florida and possibly SC have something to be concerned about in that regard. GT is always a threat to UGA but I'm not seeing it in the immediate future.

So does Georgia and Georgia Tech, FSU and FL. Its JMO but probably the same reason these two schools wouldn't want them in.

All of this depends on who the invite goes to IMO. OU would turn one down. So would OSU. FSU is in an interesting situation where they are on their way back to the elite and can compete and win in the SEC. The market value of an SEC that includes Florida State would be huge even though the immediate market of Tallahassee isn't the largest. FSU has a wide following and the history of an SEC program. It would make sense for them to move and we would renegotiate the television contract, which is inevitable, to the largest deal ever made.

All this chose UT over Bama stuff holds no water. Bama has their eyes on others and he wasnt as high on their board as he was UT. I am pretty certain if Bama had him as a high priority and had room, he would be theirs.

BS. Bama wanted him.

Not being sarcastic, but upon what is your 'certainty' based? Saban has not beaten Dooley every time. He never will either. He wanted Tiny and Clear did he not? V,B!

not saying A&M will be the next Alabama, but we will be more then a "mid-tier" team once we get our footing in the conference

First I got to get ya bout that Cotton Bowl, but Texas kids staying at home and playing in the best conference will be pretty big. Top tier of the league fairly soon after entry. Their problem in their current league is being second fiddle. This would vault them to 'somewhat' equal footing with the Horns. May even help them in Tiger land too. The potential is there. JMHFO.
