I didn't think anything of it when I first saw it. I think the loss has affected the opinion of the incident even more so. I suspect Fulmer got his point across regardless of how it looked.

To me, Hefney is a great player for us.

Fill should have grabbed him by the facemask when he walked off and spit some of a half eaten sandwich he had stored in his jowls on him. Can you imagine a kid doing this to Bobby Knight? Woody Hayes? Hell, even Johhny Majors???

LOL! :eek:lol:

Knight would probably kick a kid off the team for doing that.

Give me a break, this wasn't a snub by Hefney and it wasn't disrespectful. Hefney knew he screwed up and Fulmer knew that he knew, so there wasn't much to be said in the first place.

You see players run by their coaches all of the time when they screw up and the coaches are yelling at them.

Did anyone else notice Fulmer try to chew out Hefney after he fielded a punt inside the 5? Hafney just walked right past him without even turning his head. I wonder if that's indicative of the level of respect that the UT players have for CPF?

Or was that Hardesty?
Hefney doesn't make that many mistakes.I think Fulmer made his point.I mean,at least he let Hefney know his feelings. What would you like, Woody Hayes?:p

I saw the play and the reaction from Fulmer but it appeared to me that he had Hefneys attention. Hefney walked right past him and he had the whole sideline to exit. We dont know what was said and at that point in the game im not sure it would do any good to beat up the morale of your players. Im sure that will be discussed later. Also being a junior, im sure Hefney knows that he made a mistake and felt about that, but just like a good competitor, he moves on.

I agree with OWB. Who knows what was actually said? And what does throwing his hat down accomplish besides people on here then going "Boy, he's looking more like Spurrier!" and talking about what a horse's butt you think Fulmer is.

I am glad you started this thread, I noticed that also, it was Hefney. One of many reasons Fulmer should be fired, his players really do not respect him.

How do you know that Fulmer didn't say something like "don't say a word to me, just go sit down" or something like that? You don't.

You may be right, but I highly doubt it. More like Fulmer was giving him some instruction on how to field a punt and Hefney just walked on by. People know how to take instructions properly, from people they respect.

Like I said before, Hefney already knew he screwed up. There was no need for a discussion about it..

i hate to do this, but hefney stayed on the ten and went no deeper after the incident. as much as i'm now fully anti-fulmer, i don't think that can be blamed on him

Fulmer felt differently, as he was jumping up and down on the sideline. I believe Fulmer felt there was need for discussion.

Not blaming Fulmer for Hefney's screw up. Just citing that his players really do not respect him.

I guarantee you that if Fulmer wanted Hefney to stand there and have a discussion about it, Hefney would have done just that.

This snub stuff is just a lame attempt to further the firing discussion.

Not from what I viewed. So why did he jump up and down, try to throw his hat to the ground and walk over to where the players were coming off the field? Because he didn't want to talk to him?

he could have made a statement! i don't get it did no one see the two players behind hefney that SAW THE BALL!! IT was not getting pass them, There was going to be NO touchback!!

yup.....thats what I think....sometimes the worst thing a player can do is stop and try to explain a bad play....there was nothing to be said...and Fulmer had other things to do at the time im sure.

Whatever, this is ridiculous. Fine, the players hate Phil and have no respect for him because Hefney walked directly over to him and by him, while Phil yelled at him.

Did you really expect Hef to stop and argue that he made a great play and Fulmer was wrong to yell at him? :jpshakehead:
