Watching a documentary about a HS football rivalry in Maine, pretty good. Poor kids from the woods and mills, vs the silver spoons. Very good.

I don't drink vodka. As a kid we'd get half gallons on Svedka to pass around, that's about all I've drank. I have a screwdriver with breakfast at the races, usually ketel, since I dont buy it.

Your post kind of reminded me of this, I don't know why. I had an Egyptian professor once. A real badass. Trained in various martial arts. Twice a year, he'd fast himself and only put pure liquids into his body to cleanse and everything.

This beer is pure so I should be cleansed in a few weeks.

New, a buddy of mine has one of these. Pic below. It's a bad ass carry in my opinion. It's a 5 shot mini revolver (derringer type). It fires 22 magnum. He has some nice handguns, but this is what goes in his pocket when he goes out. It's small, easy to handle and fits in your pocket with no holster. It's deadly accurate from 25' and in.

And there is no chance of losing your manhood?

I'll have to find me a small gun for carry. I'd like a little more range, though.

Yikes, I put this in the wrong thread. No, no chance of losing it unless someone is pretty careless. How much range does one need for self defense? I think a lot of Police forces (local, county, state) use 20'-30' feet as a guideline for use of deadly force. Meaning, if you (a citizen) shoot someone outside that range you might be charged with murder/manslaughter rather than it being deemed self defense. Make sense?

Latest FBI statistic says most gunfights occur at an average of 7 yds. I was just thinking about in a gas station or bank or store, and I was in the bank and they were at a register. You are right, though.

What do you think of using slugs in a shotgun, minus that it may mess up the bore?

May not mess up the bore on some. Useless to me, though. The only reason I have the shotgun that I own is because it will blow a door in half from 10-12 feet out. Mine is for home defense and nothing else so shooting slugs is not in the realm of options. If you want to buy a good handgun that will take care of business and never give you problems, but the Sig 229. If you want a good rifle to plink at stuff and have fun with and won't present problems, buy a Ruger 10/22.

I was just wondering. A slug is just used in hunting, I take it?

Benelli makes a nice defense shotgun, but they only make one pump, I believe. Which would you prefer?

Depends on what you want it for. I've had my Mossberg for 20 years. I've fired maybe 150-200 rounds through it. I have had no misfires or other problems. I have it for home defense and nothing else. It works and was cheap. No reason for me to entertain any other ideas for this purpose.
