I qualified everything I said with the phrase," if true".That's on you I guess.
We still don't know the particulars of this story/event. I'm witholding judgement until he at least gets to give his side of the story. Personally, I think it's a small deal that the media is running away with.
The amount of one's public charity work is not always a perfect indicator of his character behind the scenes. I can think of a few athletes where the "Look at his charity work" argument would probably not go over too well.
People should raise their own damn snot nosed kids and quit waiting for entertainers and athletes to be role models. If your kids look anywhere but their own house for role models, you suck as a parent.Free country or not, this is disheartening and damaging. These men should WANT to be role models for children and families. Whether they like it or not, people look up to them. I would hope that they would take this seriously and do more honorable things with their time. They could do a lot to build society up; this kind of thing only degrades women and destroys families.
Where in their contract does it state that as a professional athlete they must abide by your moral compass? I don't think Jason Witten is going to come to your house and complain about how you organize condiments in your refrigerator. How he chooses to use his name/likeness in the public forum is no business of yours. If you don't like it, then don't pay attention! Quite simple, really.
