Wow. Does the media ever hate Palin

just curious why the media spends so much time on her? if they think she has no chance and is such a huge joke, why do they try to destroy her more than other republican candidates? makes no sense

Why not? Easy target and generates ratings.

If she can use her public cache (as a patriot or an idiot, take your pick) and drape herself in the flag to line her pockets when nobody has any idea if she's pushing her agenda or herself, then the media can go so far as to call her the next coming of Hitler if they want if they think it will draw ratings when nobody seems to have any idea if they're a legitimate news organization or just pandering to partisan knuckleheads to make a buck.

so burning the flag is something to fight for just don't make any money. Sounds like a Dem idea

Palin gets such high ratings for the same reason Jersey Shore does. You don't want to watch, but just can't help yourself sometimes.

Bashir's monologue was pretty lame, particularly in light of the fact that by his logic any one who incorporates the flag in commercial media is violating this law.

What continues to amaze me, though, is the absence of "feminist" groups like NOW when Palin is personally attacked with such vitriol and overt sexist slurs. You may agree or disagree with her politics or you may think she's an idiot, but I don't think anyone should be subject to the hateful rhetoric the she is.

I'm the exact opposite. The woman shares some of my political views yet I can't look at her face on a tv screen for more than about 30 seconds before I change the channel. I just have no interest in her empty sound bites.

Palin is anti-abortion, it doesn't matter how misogynistic the attacks against her are, in most instances, liberal feminist groups will not come to her defense. When they do, it is because they have been publicly called out for having a double-standard.

she'd be much more listenable if she dropped the simple analogies and taglines.

Exactly right. They need to admit that they're simply Democratic front groups rather than pretending that they care about women's equality, etc.

I don't think she can speak any other way. she constantly sounds like she's delivering the punchline to a marginal joke.

at least she doesn't sound like Fran Drescher or Joy Behar.

That said, I'd much rather look at Palin than listen to her.

The media cover Palin because there is a sick fascination with watching a regular person crash and burn. Its reality tv on steroids.

I really can't believe the 2 news items I've posted in this thread are considered serious political reporting. It's really depressing what passes for political reporting these days.

Because they are terrified that another Reagan will rise out of conservatism who isn't a pet like the establishment GOP. Any person who might pick up the Reagan mantle will be subject to relentless attacks from the MSM lefties. They chuckled at Reagan. They didn't take him serious until it was too late. He then made a habit of laughing at them or showing them the back of his hand. They won't make that mistake again in this generation.

I'm not saying Palin is a Reagan like leader... just that the MSM will try to destroy anyone who even hints at being one.

Jindal seems to be a possibility. He also seems to be pretty clean... but they jump on him too.

Conservative women and minorities seem to be particularly hated targets. It kills the storyline that the conservative movement is made up of old white guys with money.

If that were the case then they would be just as openly hostile and critical of Obama if not far more.

I haven't seen that much stumbling and bumbling since "This Week in Baseball" stopped airing.

then maybe the jokes about her being an idiot by the liberals are right. either way i'd like to see less of her. i can't stand all her little sayings. she's targeting the LCD and making republicans look like the exact people liberals say they are (i.e. uneducated and uncomplicated).

Don't forget that she doesn't consider intimacy with her husband to be rape... She believes in the marriage and traditional home as well... These ideas are anathema to left wing feminists.

Really? I don't like her voice but you think she sounds less educated or complicated that any of a very long list of liberals?
