Guess the 360 homers are a little butthurt by already having to pay monthly for their system. Pay a little more. It wont hurt.

or if it goes well, every producer will start jumping on subscription-services bandwagons for their games over the next few years....

The COD games are alright, but I wouldn't pay extra to play, when there are other options. It looks like BF3 will be my next shooter.

But why buy a copy of a game where I have to play a watered down version, if i don't choose to pay for the extra

Because thats the way it is and there is a market for it. It sucks and I hate it as much as the next person, but it is what it is.

I understand it, and if I thought that COD was that great of a game, I'd pay the extra.

COD is just a name now and the quality of their content is going down.

Here Is what I gather. The COD diehards are going to get the game and waste the money no matter what the price. The average gamer will rent or gamefly the game and see what the elite experience is about. It will sell copies and i am sure they will make a killing on it. There are too many games coming out this year to make me think this is the one. They may pump all the advertising into it they want, but the extra monthly fee makes it the bust of the year for me.

MW3 is at 4 times the number of presales compared to BO this time last year. I dont think others see it the same as you. I wouldnt call that "quality of content going down."

Wasn't planning on buying another COD anyway. They're all kind of the same... They're fun for about 3 months.

I don't think it's going down, but it certainly has plateaued.

I think that goes for about any video game, IMO.

Nah, some have staying power. I play some PC games regularly that have been out for 11 years. I still break out the old SNES every once in awhile. I'll still mess around with Morrowind, Oblivion, and Fallout.

I can't see it touching Battlefield, of course, I'm not a COD fan anyhow.

Love the SNES. Play Donkey Kong, Mario and several others fairly often.

No way it is anything close to BF. That right there might be the game of the year if frostbite 2.0 is all it's cracked up to be

Sales =/= Quality

Quality-wise they have a solid product, they're just selling the same game for $60 every year. Activision will rape this franchise as long as they can until it's dead like they did with Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero. Look at Madden though, people obviously don't have a problem paying for the same crap year after year so who knows when the COD train will end.
