Tobias Harris (merged)

Regardless of who gets hired, I don't think they can convince Harris to stay

I'm not sure about that. Hamilton will probably consult TH, his dad and the other current players about the possible coaches. TH's dad wanted him to play in college another year under Pearl to get his stock up and help guarantee a big contract, so maybe if Hamilton presents a coach to him that has NBA connections and a track record of getting guys in the league, they will consider another year at UT.

I think the question should be ...has his daddy decided what Tobias is going to do.

Even better. A 40-year-old man is less likely to be blown about by the wind than an 18-year-old kid.

Torrell may meddle overmuch, but he definitely understands it's a business decision.

Harris Sr. just on Basilio show said they are keeping and open mind and being patient and seeing who the next coach is. They will test the waters but they are keeping an open mind.

Umm... I disagree completely with being a weak passer. He only had one legitimate scoring threat on the team outside of himself and Scotty did a lot of standing around when Tobais had the ball in his hands. Tobais isn't the type to rush to any decisions of this magnitude. I look for him to get an NBA evaluation, give the new coach a chance, and then make an educated decision with his father. Some parents meddle too much, and some are there to help their kid make the right decision. Terrell is the latter IMO.

Tobais will ultimately do what is best for him, and should do nothing less.

Tobias's dad was just on Tony Basilly-o's show. Actually a pretty decent interview. Anyway he said they were not going to jump to any conclusions or make any knee-jerk reactions. They are going to wait to see who the new guy is and make their decisions’ at that point.

Good Luck..he can barely make a 3 point shot and is weak passer...

Who would you like him to pass to? If Scotty is having an off night, there aren't a lot of options.

He might be better at shooting 3's if he got more than one wide open look a game. If you hadn't noticed, Tennessee's offense was inept this season. If Scotty was having a bad night, Tobias was double teamed. Michigan even felt the need to triple team him a couple times.

You're right though... good luck to the team that drafts an 18 year old with a ton of potential. He was essentially the team leader as a freshman and helped take a struggling team to the tournament. You're crazy.

Harris still needs another season to work on his defensive skills IMO. His offensive game is superb but could still use some polishing up as well. To close to the 2nd round at #28 spot....better off to get another year under his belt then he is a lock for the 1st round. But maybe he blows away the NBA scouts. I think he needs his sophomore season for the business side of it...not just as a fan....the kid is going to be a pro either way but it is simply to iffy up at the high 20's.

Thats all that we can ask for at this point. I appreciate his levelheadedness (yes thats a word, I googled it)

Maybe Harris can stay another season and improve his draft stock, just like Arian Foster did!!!!
