"Not only did coach Dooley care about me football wise, but he cared about me academically and school work wise, which is really important for me and making my decision," Bowles said. "I was very impressed with that visit overall."

Some of these things that the kids are saying about Dooley is such a breath of fresh air compaired to that douchnozzle Kiffin. I am glad we have in place a coach who will get us in a stable, competing place in the SEC without having to worry about looming NCAA investigations.

That would be a great way to kick off the 2012 recruiting class. What are your feelings on other instate 2012 prospects like Kimbrow and Nathan Cole?

I'm not sure how hard we will go after Cole, but Kimbrow is a priority for the staff. Kimbrow likely won't decide till the fall or later.

Okay thanks. That is also what I have heard regarding Kimbrow. One more 2012 question though? Do you know which QB the staff is going the hardest after? Gunner Kiel, Zeke Pike, or Connor Brewer? Doesn't seem like we could go wrong with any of those.

All 3 are priorities obviously, but I think that we have the best shot at Pike or Kiel.

Staff not pursuing Cole would be a mistake.

I'm not saying they won't pursue him, but it could be a Devrin Young type deal where they wait, evaluate, and offer much later to ensure they have room and don't have any one else who wants to commit before then.

Gunner Kiel is the #1 target i think

Thanks to both of you. I am no coach by any means, but after watching film on all of them I definitely preferred Gunner Kiel and Connor Brewer over Pike. In fact I think I actually like Connor Brewer's film better than GK's film. But I don't know how great the competition is in Arizona for Brewer. Anyway since we have probably the best shot at Kiel and he is our #1 target I hope we lock him up early.

You can only take so many, and if coaches feel he can help over others, I'm sure they will make him a priority. Can't take everyone in-state, wish we could but this isn't Florida.

You don't wait till October to offer an instate kid who had a Bama offer before his junior season ended. The coaches could afford to wait and see with Devrin.

He's an instate player you absolutely would take.

There are a lot of kids with Bama offers, but the question is when would they take him?? That's a BIG thing most people look over when dealing with offers. Some are on the spot committable, others are contingent on where other players fall. Cole is a solid prospect, but I would take Bowles over him at this point.

Telling me stuff I already know. Regardless, waiting that long with Cole would not be a good move. Unlike Devrin, he will have multiple committable offers before we offer if we use the same approach.

If the coaches think that he's not a good fit, so be it. I think the kid is a great prospect, but 2012 is going to be a selective year.
