I told this kid's uncle that Drae would look good in orange catching passes from the second coming of PM aka Tyler Bray.

Saw him. He was impressive, but he isn't on Arnett, Hunter, Rogers level. Think he'd struggle to see the field early on here. Think he'd fit in better at a lower tier SEC school (I know we are down now, but at his position we are still high caliber) or ACC/Big East level.

Actually think somewhere like Vandy, Kentucky, OM, or State would be a great fit for him. He'd look good in an Auburn type offense over what we are trying to do.

You do know he has another year right?

And from what I've read, he is easily within the top 10 best players in the state for 2012.

You do know I said nothing bad about him.(Gosh Id hate to go to an SEC school on scholarship) A top 10 player in Tennessee is Vandy, Kentucky, Ole Miss material.

Same league and OC that Marlon Brown had that made him the best player in the state. That is working out. He also will have a brand new QB next year, so itll be interesting to see if he tears it up like he did this year.

Saw him and MB, and I thought MB was better than him, and we see how that is working out.

I just don't see him getting on the field here with the talent at his position that is here. Now maybe at CB or safety, yeah. :eek:k:

I am not going by what I read on those rankings, I am going by who I have seen and the coaches I have talked to. I think Mathers is underrated and I think Drae is good if you would read. I THINK HE WOULD BE WASTING HIS TIME COMING TO TENNESSEE BECAUSE OF THE TALENT WE HAVE AT THE POSITION HE WANTS AND SHOULD PLAY. I THINK HE'D BE A BETTER FIT AT THESE OTHER SCHOOLS. HE WOULD SEE THE FIELD MORE EARLY AND OFTEN.

I think Teague and Eric Gordon at times look like lower tier SEC caliber players. We are a lower tier SEC team right now. When was it bad to be a lower tier SEC guy besides going to Vandy. South Carolina is middle of the road/lower tier usually and they are in the championship game.

Go to that thread on Tennessee talent, yeah there are kids going to a lot of big schools, but how many of them actually worked out. Those rankings mean nothing. Bowles in my mind from seeing him IN PERSON is a top 5 talent in the state, I just don't think we need him, because he is not as good as Hunter or Rogers. And from watching film on Arnett, not as good as him either.

The Mathers v Bowles debate to me comes down to his competition. I do not think Drae could go to that region and play those teams (Riverdale, Smyrna, Oakland, even Siegel) week in and out and put up the same kind of numbers Mathers has.

Call it the Marlon Brown effect. I think the level of competiton (and the offense) Bowles is in, make his numbers look better than they are. They can sit in the huddle and tell him to run deep, jump over everybody, and catch it. That doesn't translate well on the next level (as you have seen with MB). Just my opinion.

You're obviously going to argue with everything being from Jackson and having a horse in the race (conversation). It's ok to have a different opinion, and I would love to hear your thoughts on Bowles, since you've probably seen him more than I have. Whenever you want to bring some type of substance to the debate, I'll be glad to talk.

Until then, a post like this (see above) is just an easier way for you to say, "I don't like what you're saying, but I have nothing good to say back."

So Drae Bowles is better than Marlon Brown? haha yes. VN idiocy has come full circle.

Same competition. Same coach. Bowles QB's >>> MB's QB's.

I've seen Bowles in person as well. Impressive player, but not dominant.

I love how we're hopping on the best kids early for next years class especially the top in state talent such as Bowles, Kimbrow, and Lathers.
