What did you have for dinner?

I've seen a few people on here Marinating steaks. Just curious what you marinate them with?

If you buy a quality piece of meat you don't have to marinate it nor should you. Call Ruth's Chris and ask them how long they marinate their steaks. You probably won't get an answer though, just uncontrollable laughter.

Not all of us can buy our meat from Ruth Chris like you. Did you eat there every night while in Hawaii?

Did a crawfish boil with some Slap ya Mama white pepper cajun seasoning and Zatarains Crawfish Boil. Fantastic and fairly spicy.

Then I would tell them to kiss my ass.

If someone called my restaurant and asked me, I would have at least 10 questions for them before I gave them my suggestion, but believe me....the last thing I would do is laugh!

I was just curious (as I stated) what they used.

:eek:k:

Honey baked ham sandwich meat, Colby cheese, Turkey bacon, and Polynesian sauce sandwich. With daritos. And some Didier Barrouillet.

Catfish, hush puppies, slaw, baked beans and cherry cobbler for desert. And sweet tea.

Nope. Ate at the Shore House a couple of times in Honolulu but in Kona ate at the house every night. We ate what we caught.

Try this, learned it from a Puerto Rican chef.

Equal parts sea salt, fresh cracked pepper, dried garlic (powdered is fine), finely chopped oregano.

For two NY strips @ 14-16 oz. I use a teaspoon of each. Then after mixing it together make a paste with extra virgin olive oil. After the paste is made massage it on the steak but don't overdo it. The oil seals the steak and even if you cook it all the way to MW it will still be juicy.

Also, never ever put a cold steak on a grill, like just out of the fridge. Always let it sit to room temp before you grill it. A cold steak to hot grill will cause the muscle fiber to expand pretty violently and will dry out the steak. Also never use a fork, dry steak again.

If you do it right it will be one of the best steaks that you will ever eat.

Nuttin wrong with a good hot dog every now and then. I had an Oscar Mayer Jalapeno & Cheddar the other day that was awesome. I don't know if they are new or not, but that's the first I'd ever heard of them.

:good!:

I can't think of the name of the little hot dog joint in Bham alabama, maybe stinkey petes? GREAT, and I Mean GREAT hot dogs.

one of the strangest marinades i have tried is diet coke and powdered taco seasoning (overnight). i know it sounds weird, but it is very very good. i wouldn't use it on much other than sirloin tho.

most times, i use dales, a bit of garlic, and fresh ground black pepper.
