Tennessee under NCAA investigation over use of recruiting hostesses

It's not just here that people have referred to certain things about what is being investigated. It's an overall investigation about how hostesses are used here in general, and I'm sure that the way some people refer to them is something that the NCAA is using to look at things as well. It's not a conspiracy theory that the NCAA, the university, or possibly other rival teams read this board and could question some of the things being talked about. Like I said, it's not the only reason, but I'm sure it will be referenced at some point.

I'll bet you that it isn't. Ever.

This looks like it might be big and affect recruiting starting now. What part did Phil play? What does he know and when did he know it. Can we blame this on him too? It couldn't be Kiffin's fault..or could it.

The rest of the board has taken a vote, and we find you... guilty of overstating a message board's role in an investigation that was forthcoming regardless of internet banter.

In the context of the messages they are not "official representatives of the university."

If they were going to enforce that in the way you suggest, they would have to penalize most every division I school.

Should be no different IMO than a player who says that they talk to recruits. On the same token, what if Eric Berry goes to his HS school game 3 hours away wearing his UT garb and tells kids how great UT is.

You've got to be kidding..

It's not directly the coaches fault. Again, I think it's more so the compliance office not really paying attention to what their hosts do.

That's my point exactly. Thank you.

So what exactly could they do to us for something like this, if they find something? Just curious.

Prove that theory, because when they are acting in the interest on behalf of the university, they are official representatives. It's not like these kids and girls have a previous relationship before they started getting recruited.

Just this violation alone? Take 3 hours of practice away or 1 hour with a recruit away.

As others have stated, it's more of a concern of opening a wider investigation that could reveal serious infractions.

Your right, it's silly to think someone could actually reference something that goes on here as part of an investigation. Just silly.

Why would a UT student texting a recruit be acting on the behalf of the university any more than a player on the team? Is Lane dictating what they say? A previous relationship is not a requirement. That's silly.

Looks like maybe now. :good!:

Why would it be now, when it hasn't ever before??????

If they were going to enforce that, they'd have to penalize every single DI school that is doing it which is most every one if not every one. Come on, Eric. Logic here.

:p
