Seriously? So if UT decided to change to crimson and white, you'd be ok with that?
How many of the against crowd are actually from Knoxville? Most of the ones against the Black unis are over 50 and live in a rural area or one of the small towns. You dinosaurs are the reason alot of people look at UT as a fanbase full of old folks redneck and hillbillies. Id say almost all of the under 50 actual Knoxville residents and UT students loved it. Get over it this isnt 1965 in mayberry. The players and recruits like rap and things like Black unis. Most young people do.

I dont give a rats mule as long as they win and we sing rocky top, and yeah sure, my high school colors were crimson and white, so it wouldnt be hard to swallow, but seriously, youre an idiot for suggesting the outlandish. Cmon dude, if you dont get it then GTFO.
It is not so much about the black jerseys, it is the lying that took place, the cover up per se. Now we had football players visiting the AD and asking to use the black jerseys. But also he had to lie about it. Now what will happen when he has to defend the football team. Will they think he is lying once more? What if he has to go before the board and state a fact as he sees it. Will they believe him? Will the commisioner believe him when he says we have done nothing wrong? Who will believe him anymore? No big deal about the black jerseys. Our AD lying, is a real big deal. I can't put much faith into anything he says from now on.

UT first fielded a team in 1891. The orange and white jerseys were not worn until 1922. I believe they wore black jerseys prior to '22. Can someone confirm this? Not that I care, but maybe if confirmed it will bring some solace to those whose sensibilities were affected.
must have been before 1889
Orange and White
The school colors of orange and white date to April 12, 1889, when Charles Moore, president of UT Knoxville's athletic association, chose the colors for the first field day. His inspiration came from the orange and white daisies that grew profusely on the Hill. Students endorsed the colors in 1892.
Kiffin stated on Vol Calls that the Black Jerseys were for the players... Who can argue with that?Well my 2 cents for what it is worth...:ermm:
I think the color combo was not the best but my support for the black jerseys comes from hearing the players wanted them. I feel like they have practiced hard, played hard and had to deal with a lot of ridicule and bad press not only from the media and rival fans but from their own fan base as well. I believe allowing the players to wear black jerseys is a small reward which they deserve. If the players want to wear black then I support them and nothing can change my mind concerning that. IT is TIME at Tennessee...GO BIG ORANGE!!!!!!!!

Jimmy Hyams is not the only Vol fan offended by the black jerseys. Almost all of the fans over the age of 30 or offended. Alot will not tolerate Kiffin doing what he pleases. Slive has just about had his fill. Obviously Hamilton has no control and is a liar. Some high powered donors will make the difference.
