No longer living in a world where SEC rules - CBSSports.com

"And Alabama gets rewarded for the flukiest -- along with Iowa's opener vs. Northern Iowa -- home victory of the season, a 12-10 squeaker on Saturday against Tennessee in which the Crimson Tide blocked two field goals in the fourth quarter. Alabama is No. 2 in the country today for one reason, and one reason only: Because Tennessee doesn't have a kicker who can lift a field goal over zero-jumping Terrence Cody.

Look, nothing against Tennessee. The Volunteers have been better under Lane Kiffin than I suspected they would be, but the Volunteers played Florida and Alabama as closely on the road as they played UCLA at home. And UCLA sucks. UCLA is 3-4. But UCLA beat Tennessee as easily as Florida and Alabama beat Tennessee. "

Dumb logic.

The only thing the Pac 10 has had going for it in the last 8 years or so lost to Washington. The SEC is down, and it's still the best.

UT now > UT in Week 2 of the season

SEC is still far ahead of any other conference in my opinion.. Not to knock the other schools, but they just don't compare.. I would still pick middle tier teams against Pac-10 and Big-10 top teams..

The comment about UCLA beating UT as easily as UF beat UT tells you he didn't watch the games. The UF game didn't come down 1 play the way the UCLA game did.

Also, he's essentially basing the entire strength of the SEC when compared to the PAC-10 on the UT-UCLA game. Pretty small sample size.

This IS true regarding the conference. However, I believe that Texas and USC are both better than Florida and Alabama. I'm an SEC guy to the core and this actually pains me to say that.

No they aren't. Neither team is. I've seen USC play in person and they aren't really anymore explosive than UF or Bama. Their defense isn't as good, either. Texas hasn't proven to be special, either.

UT has and always will play to the level of their competition. Anyone following the past 10 years will know that.

Oh yeah I'm sure this is true since we have the same coaching staff and players this year as we've had for the past 10 years! Shouldn't make a bit of difference. Make random generalizations much?

All Florida fans are jort wearing mullet heads! See I can do it too.

Perhaps the dumbest statement posted on this board in a very long time and that is saying something after all the Bammer trolls we have had lately. Please support this with some objective facts.

That's one of the more ignorant statements I've read on this board in a while.

If Fulmer and Chavis were still in town, I'd likely agree with you. But they're not in town anymore, so... yeah... that's a pretty ignorant statement for you to make.

Even under CPF that doesn't make sense. UT got blown out 4 times last year, so I'd say they didn't play to the level of the competition. Did CPF ever play to the level of Saban or Meyer's competition? They usually handed it to him.

Or possibly, UT has progressed throughout the season....No that is logical and makes sense. I'm sure your opinionated statement is far more accurate.

USC would beat both florida and bama right now, IMO. All the talk about how valiently we played against florida and bama was mostly BOGUS, because while florida and bama are both solid, neither is anywhere close to great. Bama has no passing game at all and simply isn't all that talented--a total myth. They are very*well coached and tough and they have a good defense. Florida isn't nearly has good offensively as it's been in the recent past...

Thank you for this profound analysis. Now, why not go back to the Florida boards where you can share your ignorant, dumbass statements with other people who don't work and live in their mom's basements?

wait didnt boise beat oregon, so does that mean the WAC is better than the PAC-10 and USC is horrible, I mean they lost to Washington who got throttled by oregon. So yeah the WAC is better than the PAC-10

Exactly, but even if we weren't it would still be bad logic.

I'd agree that Alabama and Florida aren't the dominant #1 teams we're used to seeing, but who is this year? You can't tell me Texas, USC, or Iowa deserve to be ahead of those two teams.
