Out coached.

How is starting JC over and over working?

So far it has us 2-3
If we could have gained 1 yd against UCLA we would be 3-2
If we had made a PAT and the missed FG could have been 4-1

I am not a JC supporter but to hang all the blame on him and the HC is juvenile.

Here is an analogy: Say you are driving and you have a flat tire. Do you stop and change the tire (Crompton) or do you keep driving causing more damage to the car(Team)?

I can change a tire , Lane can't.

Ok how was we out coached when we got wr not catchin the ball??and how was we out coached when we got ppl in position to make tackles but didnt make em...out coached not really retard more like we was just out played on the field..

Its not the Xs and Os............

Face it fellas, the cupboard is bare, and Lane can't do a whole lot with what he has.

-We all know about crompton
-GJ is a huge disappointment IMO
-Same goes for our O line
-Our recievers have to be one of the 10 worst crews in the country

No coach alive could win with this situation.

And the part that gets me, is that Fulmer has a snooty "told ya so'' attitude, but it is his fault for being a lazy, "good ole boy", fat cat that thought SECCs fall into your lap every few years just because you are at the University of Tennessee.

The people that don't realize that there is not a coach that could win with this offense, just need to go pout about being "outcoached"; and don't show back up in two years when Kiffin's recruits are winning 10 games and say "I knew it all along"

Its been 5 games, some of you are a joke.

I agree with most of your post except for the O-line comment. They aren't playing as bad as some people want to make it out.

Not saying they are as bad as the rest of out O, just that they are a disappointment.

I try to reason with people but man, your hell bent that Stephens can solve all our problems. I would suggest you attend some practices and some interactions with the coaching staff. Anyone who can sit behind their monitor and be this astute to solving our problems needs to be on the hill.

Do you honestly think this staff and the staff last year have not sat around the conference table and weighed their options week in and week out about the most glaring position that is hindering this team? JC made some poor passes last night, he also hit receivers in the hands and they dropped passes. The 4th down conversion with Jones was almost dropped by him and that pass was spot on. I could go on put that point would be meaningless because you have been brainwashed into all that fails with the offense is Crompton and it is the coaches fault for leaving him in.

Not saying they are as bad as the rest of out O, just that they are a disappointment.

Most people thought they'd be the weakest part of our offense behind the QB situation. Obviously that's not the case. The WR corp is hand in hand with the QB at being inconsistent and slow. We look so pedestrian at WR.

The practice squad screams at NS all the times for screwing things up. It has been said that our team has no confidence in NS. He and and JC are Fulmerites!

I hate knee jerk reactions! I hate fair weather fans! I really hate this growing negativity in our fan base! Am I tired of losing? Yes. Am I tired of Crompton? Yes. Am I tired of dropped passes? Yes. Am I getting frustrated? Yes. Was I hoping that CLK could turn this around in one season? Yes. But folks Rome was not built in a day.

CLK said this was going to take some time to be patent. I have faith in this staff that better days are coming in the future. It would be nice for it to be sooner than later but you and I have no control over that, so get over it.

I am a true die hard, orange blood running fan! I am here for the long haul! Go VOLS!

I have been reading posts for years now and enjoy what you guys and gals have to say. The thing about this game is if you look past the horrible reciever play in the first 3 quarters and Crompton's missing open targets, the game play calling was excellent. We ran very good plays all night, but just did not catch the ball or throw the ball effectively to win. I was very impressed with the way Monty adjusted the defense through out the game and how we attacked their defense. Crompton played better and showed improvement over other games, but the recievers just couldn't catch it. If you want to throw a great effort under the bus, you can. I prefer to look at this game as a great improvement over what we have had in the past. I am very proud of the effort of the players and coaches during this game. We will continue to improve and be back in the future.

"Hittin' the sauce early this morning are ya, huh?"

Would you change it if your spare tire was also flat?

I am not a coach, but tell me why with a little over 5 minutes left and you are down by 10, you would not go for it on 4th and goal?
You have just completed a 4th down conversion earlier in the drive. You need two scores, why settle for the field goal. If you go for the touchdown and get it, that pumps up your defense to stop them. Auburn was getting the ball after the score anyway. If you hold them, then you only need to get in field goal range.

You have to have 2 scores.....if you go for the 1st down and don't get it the ballgame's over....

1. UCLA
2. AUBURN
3.?

Who's next? I will admit, I have one leg off the train. I'm not impressed. I've never in my life seen a coach so stubborn and full of himself. I just don't get it.

I will say this, he is losing the fan base fast. REAL FAST

Someone predicted that Vol fans would not have the patience..... :whistling:

Crompton graduates this year and Stephens will return.

The quarterback for next seson will be Bray or Stephens or someone to be named later.

If Stephens is gong to fill the toll of starting quarterback or back-up, why not give him as much experience this season as possible so that he can fill either role as well as possible next season?

This reasoning seems way too logical to me at this point to be ignored.

What if you had 4 flats and only one spare?

JC played horribly and especially in the first half. We've had several running arguments though as to whether it is JUST JC or if the problem is bigger. If Saturday doesn't illustrate that it is bigger than just one guy... I have to question whether you watched the same game I did... and if you did if you know anything at all about football.

JC repeatedly threw the ball behind guys and made poor decisions.... then when he did do something right, the receivers made bad plays.

One of my keys to winning the game was to bench Moore... I'm feeling pretty good about that one right now.

Inlight of the overall performance of UT in the Florida game, and comparing it to last night, I am trying to figure out whether: a) the Vols simply matchd up better vs. Florida than most teams; b) the Vols spent all summer getting ready for UF; or, c) the Vols put every ounce of emotional and physical energy they had into the UF game and now have nothing left for anyone else.

I guess an all of the above option would be the most likley.
