Out coached.

tampa 2 = cover 2 with the MLB dropping into a deep middle zone. You said nothing close to that. We rarely run it. More times than not, EB is lined up in the box and we have one deep safety. You should just stop.

I guess I didn't realize you wanted a workshop on it. Hate to be the one to break this to you, but there's a lot more to the Tampa 2 than that. While the formation is as you've described, there is a variety of stunts and shifts depending on the pass protection package. You described a simplistic, vanilla hybrid. EB often walks up before the snap changing the defensive look after the initial alignment in an effort to provide run stop support or pressure. I am sure you knew that though.

No they wouldn't. They would have benched him a long time ago. Problem is, you hurt your chances of bringing in a top qb recruit if that recruit doubts his chances of starting as a freshman with a starter with eligibility left.

I don't buy this recruit argument. Peyton was prepared to sit a year behind Colquitt, for goodness sake.

Kiffin gambled (and lost) on JC. If it was close in practice, like he said, then his story from the beginning of the season is that both QBs would get snaps.

I don't buy the WR argument either. These guys have been productive in the past. At this point, if they aren't doing the right things, it's all on the coaches.

I am behind Kiffin, but I think he has a lot to learn about being a head coach at this point. However, you win with Jimmys and Joes, and if he continues to bring in (and coach-up) star quality recruits, he will have the chance for his OJT.

However, he is at risk of throwing this season away. It's Time .... to rotate QBs if nothing else.

If we could simply meet your expectations, that would be good enough for me. I expected to have a rough few years, I just pray he can overcome the inexperience. I agree it will take the whole staff. The thing Saban had was experience which I am sure helped along the way.

This staff put together has plenty of experience..but yes I know Kiffin by himself doesnt have alot of experience as a head coach and like Saban he didnt do to hot in the NFL...but im under the opinion of "you got to start somewhere" and he is out to prove himself...plus ole Monte aint going to let him fail....but I dont really know what your beef is?you dont think Tennessee is going to get any better under Kiffin and co.?

Could any of you guys run a NASCAR race with hotwheels or Match box cars?

This is what CLK has to work with. Phil left us with NOTHING!!!!!
he left us with match box cars to run in nascar.
so STFU until next year.

i dont see how we were out coached? out manned, yes. out coached, no.
Like Bill Parcels once said "if you want me to cook the meal, you got to let me buy the groceries" Coach Kiff hasnt had time to buy all the groceries yet.

clk can show him the proper form,he rode the pine.

Just like you prob did. They stuck you in the corner in class. Everyone felt bad for you in football or whatever sport you played if at all. So the coaches told you the most important part of the team is water boy and collecting jock straps after the game.

Just put this ignorant fool on ignore.

First, let me apologize for the repeated posts. Don't know what happened, didn't show up after several attempts and then they all showed up. Anyway, I don't have a "beef" at all with Kiffin. I am just not as confident as many are. I don't dislike him in the least, and I will support him although I think benching Crompton is long overdue. If for no other reason but to give NS real playing time before next season. We may need him, you know? If we losing with Crompton, let's give NS a shot. I've been accused of bashing Kiffin, yet nobody can produce a single post showing it. I guess that's what I get for stating my opinion where most people are stating theirs which happens to be different.

Nice nice I see where you're coming from and I understand now...and I somewhat agree with you on the QB situation but there has to be something us not in the "know" arent getting...maybe Stephens is not better than Crompton(even though in limited game action last year I came away that that is not the case but what can you do?) but it also could be that the other ten players dont play as hard for him as they would for #8 idk or doesnt have good timing with the receivers, doesnt understand playbook,etc...but theres something missing that they arent telling fans...that is obvious

IMO we lost that game because UT couldn't run the ball against Auburn's defense.
Ideally, Crompton throws the ball 15-20 times a game and no more. :twocents:

maybe im an idiot, but early on crompton lost the damn game. you can't expect the defense to be on the field for half the game and pull a win out of your arse. out coached=negative. when crompton actually made nice throw the wr's dropped the passes.

??? You say that JC lost the game.. but then go on to say that when he did throw well, the ball was dropped.. which is it?:)horse: JC)

That's a GREAT quote. Too bad the bandwagon morons like posivol don't get it.

Guy said on the trolley after the game that Layla had to be the most secure woman in Knoxville........because once Lane commits to someone, he's firmly committed.

The Qb cupboard was left bare. Besides Tyler Bray, I think we will get at least 2 more QB commits for next year. Scroggins may be one of them. He wants to play immediately? Come to Knoxvegas son, you will get your chance

Who's next? I will admit, I have one leg off the train. I'm not impressed. I've never in my life seen a coach so stubborn and full of himself. I just don't get it.

I will say this, he is losing the fan base fast. REAL FAST

Out coached? This is a joke. This is all about talent on the field. (Thanks to Phil) This thing will not turn around until 2010 or 2011. We need to just chill.

1. Never, ever, under any circumstance criticize Vol football.
2. Never, ever, under any circumstance criticize our new shining star of a coach. He is magical.
3. Just ask him.
4. But hey, the halftime change of attire by Lane was picked up nicely by the network.
