Out coached.

i am so sorry i misspelled kiffin's name, my bad, i am so sorry, i just think its funny how fast people jump off the bandwagon when a few games dont go great. i mean seriously what do you want him to do?

What does people jumping off the bandwagon have to do with me? I am not your youth minister! I've said from the beginning I'm not on the "bandwagon". I am a Vol fan! No wagon needed. I am simply not sold on Kiffin's ability to lead this team to where I think it should be. You don't have to like it or agree with it, but you won't change my opinion. He is the only one that can do that, and I hope like crazy that he does. It's not negativity; it's years of studying the game. Folks need to stop blaming Fulmer for mistakes that are being made by Kiffin this year, period. He's the coach; he's wearing the headset; he's making the calls and the decisions.

he's also coached for an entire 5 games, has only had one recruiting class (ranked 5th), and is yet to have a competent quarterback on his roster. maybe you should go study some more?

Same here but since we "question" we are bandwagon fans. :dunno:

I think that might be some of the problem.....

Come on fellas lets not let emotion stop you from thinking...speaking of thinking..try to think about the last few years and think about Fulmer and his staff..and with Crompton you just cant teach an old dog new tricks and i guess its just wishful thinking to think otherwise...but this coaching staff is not a problem and is Thesolution...but i do admit it wouldve been awesome if he pulled a Bruce Pearl but again just wishful thinking and maybe thats what some people really expected....damn you bruce

Well, if you'll settle for on the job training, then maybe you're satisfied. Keep in mind that he ran off a QB much more competent than anything on our roster. So, yes, he had one on his roster. Some folks act like Fulmer should have recruited for a system that would be here in the future, Kiffin's. Finally, don't blame me that UT hired a guy with no experience. Approximately how many games will it take before you expect him to be held accountable for his decisions?

Good first post. Welcome to volnation.

I truly hope you're right about Kiffin being the solution. Time will tell although I'd still like the football program to achieve more than the basketball team.

and he doesn't have plenty of college football and head coaching experience? i guess if he wasn't such an inexperienced coach he could've recruited a little better, or gotten a stronger staff...

and how many games did you watch tajh boyd play?? everyone knew that he was hurt midway through last season, but he was going to play through it. so when kiffin "ran him off" he knew that he'd be out all of this year and clk would have another year to get a qb that really fit his system. also, his mistakes tonite were what exactly?

Time will tell if those things actually pay dividends. Odd though how our defense is getting shredded when compared to last year's. Tampa 2? Maybe.

because they had to spend 3/4 of the game on the field because of our awful qb. if you couldn't see that they were exhausted then you're an idiot. maybe?

Yeah, Auburn's offense this year is really comparable to last year.

While I'd love to break down the whole game for you, I don't have the time; however, I'll throw you a couple of bones. Auburn's defensive scheme allows for throws to the TE anytime you want it. When was the first throw to the TE? About 1 minute left in the first half. Could Crompton make the throws? Maybe not, but at least they are open throws. Did you not notice a different running game package than you did against Fla? Just look at the running situations that we passed on. Why? Because Kiffin either outguessed himself or believed that Auburn's ability to stop the run is greater than Fla. , and yes, I have seen Boyd play several times. He is far better than anything we have.

I'm pretty sure that Auburn's offense didn't play in the Ohio game.

Pretty sure that their QB passed it 51 times and that stretched the game out. They only scored one TD and that wouldn't have happened without Crompton giving them a short field.

Now you resort to name calling because I ask a valid question. Of course I see that they are exhausted; they were also shredded last week. How do you explain that? Maybe you are just a little too sensitive. Is the Tampa 2 a proven defense in the NCAA or the SEC for that matter? It's not a knock on Kiffin to ask a question; you might need to ease up on the Kool Aid.

you're somewhat right, crompton can't make the throws, conversation over. he's proven that on multiple occasions. and if your last comment wasn't a lie, then you'd realize that no matter how decent he was a phoebus, it's hard to be better than crompton with a torn acl..

Do you know what the Tampa 2 is? Do you realize that we have played very little of it?

I agree that any fan that jumps off board during this rebuilding season, which we all knew it was coming in, should not be allowed back in a couple of years.

Crompton is just not going to get it done. Period. I think we have all figured that out. What I don't understand is Stephens really that bad? Would it not be worth trying?

Here is my biggest problem and some information many people may not know. Chad Cunningham kicking off has been a sore spot for this team and the coaching staff. What everyone is not really talking about is we have a kicker that transferred from Austin Peay to play for his favorite school. He puts the ball in the back of the end zone or through the endzone 9 out of 10 times during practice. Tonight, the coaching staff dressed him for the first time and told him that he would probably kick off. Of course, he did not. Anyone who watched this game or any other game can see Cunningham does not have the leg to do kick offs. My question is if Kiffin preaches competition so much and it is clear there is a better player to handle kick offs, why would he not make the switch? I KNOW it would be a huige benefit to this team to mix things up and put it in Stephens and let Rhome do the kick offs.
