Gator Fans Sucker Punch UT Fan!

In Boston for the weekend, and can't see this. But I am ashamed if any Gator fan was anything less than totally friendly to any rival fan. Hate that.

Where were you on Saturday between the hours of 6 p.m. an 8 p.m.?

if they like to fight, they can come see me in section XX 12 rows up!

When they come to KTown next year they are gonna be crying anyway after they lose the game and then really be crying if they decide they wanna start some ****!!! I love the Vols and everything but I would never treat an opposing teams fan this way...BUT by God if they feel like they need to start something then I don't care one bit to get a lil rowdy and whip some gator ass!!! And sucker punching someone is freakin' cowardly, I will meet you in Section XX row 12 and I'm quite sure that me, you, and tennfanatic will have no problem changing every single one of those cowards attitudes and will send them back to Florida in wheel-chairs and body casts!!!! WOOOOOOOOO!!!! LoL

I used to live in Florida and the reason there is a lack of southern hospitality is because most of the residents are from up north.

A friend of mine had a similar experience in GA.

Thats why I dont travel much because I wont take their ****. If they want to get physical, I'll by God make them wish they never met me. Some of these moronic fans in the SEC have nothing else to do but fight. I'll never start a fight but if someone touches me its on.:machgun:

Did it say he was scared that he'd never see his family again??!! How bad was this punch and kick in the ribs??? It shouldn't have happened, but I've seen it at neyland a couple times, away from the stadium and after a loss of course, so I really can't say anything.

Watching the game on a tv, my friend. How was Camp?

It was interesting. Found a pub on A1A to watch the game. Sat next to the dumbest football fan I've ever met. Thank god it didn't pour rain on us during the campout.

while this sucks and should never happen, it does....not so sure why an article was written about this (even if it was her son). stuff like this unfortunately happens every year everywhere. uga fans are notorious for sucker punching people in jacksonville after they lose everywhere. my buddy got busted up pretty good two years ago minding his own business

we are not UGA..........stupid response

Every fanbase has these kinds of d-bags, even ours. Most likely was drunk, I'd imagine...ask Gator fans what they went through on the way back to their cars in 1998.

:no:As a long time Gator fan, this is a shame. I apologize on behalf of Gator Nation. There are fans of every team this way. These games are still held on campuses of colleges, where you have a large portion being young, immature and even drunk students. Happens everywhere. I was at the UGA-Florida game, back in 2005, UGA won the game and my 70 year old father, that hadn't been to a UGA-UF game since the 1940's, and I were verbally insulted and profanity and stuffed Gator toys with rope around the neck, were thrown at us, as we walked through a UGA tailgating section. My father had to sit on a curve shortly afterwards, cause he had a pain in his chest, and two days later had a heart attack. Sometimes, SEC fans take football as being their lives and way too serious...and its a shame. Passion is passion. Respect is respect. Iam sure that every fan base can say the same about any away game (especially a night game) experienced on the road. The actions of a few ignorant fans, probably young and drunk, should NEVER be a true reflection upon a University and a football team, and also of game that is played by a bunch of 17, 18, 19, 20 year old young men. Iam once again sorry to hear of this article, and I hope the young man is in good condition and spirits.

Just this part tells me it probably was because the fans from wherever it may have been made a smartass comment to the Vol Fan because they won at Neyland...

That being said I am sure that there are some similiar stories that have happened at Neyland BUT in all the years I have been going to games I have never seen ANY UT fan start ANY sort of fight with an opposing fan, much less sucker-punch one of them!!! I have however seen several fights started by fans from other SEC teams get ended in a very quick and dramatic fashion outside the stadium!!! It's like once all the UT fans that are around see what is happening they all just converge on top of them like a BIG ORANGE SWARM and well...you can just imagine what happens to the dumbass(s) who started the fight!

The University of Tennessee has GREAT fans as a whole who actually have class and can be humble in victory (unless it's Florida cause then we will all raise hell on 'ol Urbie and the Gators) and gracious in defeat (which as soon as CLK gets established will be FEW and FAR between!!!). It is great to be a part of a great group of fans cheering for a great football team! It's just one big happy ORANGE family!!! LoL
