Looking Past The Upcoming Beatdown...

Yes. Hat makes it perfectly clear that money is not an issue. I'm fortunate enough that money is not an issue for me either. But, I'll be there Saturday in the Swamp cheering on Kiffin and the boys come hell or high water.

You are relentless. Did Hat steal your wife or something?

You've mistaken my post.. Do you really believe that if one chooses not to spend money on traveling to a game that he/she is considered a fair weather fan?

Guys if we play florida tough and maybe only get beat by a couple scores would it change your perception on the aub and ga games?

I can't believe how many people are predicting a loss to Auburn. I think UCLA is a better team and they are certainly a better coached team. I'll say this.... if Tennessee loses to Gene Chezik I will probably give up on this season. They probably won't even finish .500 if they do. Tennessee lost by 2 to Tommy Tuberville last year. He is a good coach. Chezik may be the worst coach in all of college football. He is certainly in the bottom 10 imo. He is not good.

I don't think you can say UCLA is a better team than Auburn yet. The coaching part I'll give you, but I'm not going to say they are a better team yet. And if they are, it's not by very much.

If UT can lose at home to UCLA, they can lose at home to Auburn.

No. Even if Crompton has the game of his life and we come that close that would only mean we have an inconsistent QB instead of an incompetent one. Neither of which are predictable

I'm not saying it will happen... but i would loveeeeee to see how this board was if we beat florida saturday. it would be hilarious.

If you listen to half the loosers on this board there is no reason to play the rest of the season.
If you can't correctly spell "losers," you have zero business using that term to describe anyone but yourself.

Chizik beat an Iowa team that went 6-6 and was full of 2-3* players. Beating Ferentz isn't comparable to the likes of Carrol, Lane, Monte, Chow, Neuheisel, Tuberville etc. Iowa just beat Northern Iowa 17-16 after UNI missed two game winning field goals. Iowa has never been a great team under Ferentz... minus one season. In their only year of dominance(if you want to call it that), Ferentz went 11-1 during the regular season. Guess who that loss was too... Iowa State. Iowa State(7-7. No idea how they played 14) wasn't good that year and neither was Iowa apparently despite their record. Iowa State outscored Iowa 29-7 in the second half to win 36-31. Iowa went on to get blown out by USC in the Orange Bowl.

I guess I don't know where you're getting that Chizik's coaching ability can be compared to the staff Tennessee has assembled or even UCLA's staff. Lane, Ed O and Chow have all won National Championships. Neuheisel has beatin USC. Monte Kiffin won a Super Bowl. Eddie Gran was part of a 13-0 season. And your argument is Chezik beat a 6-6 Iowa team. I know you also used Crompton for your reasoning and I agree he sucks but like I pointed out... he didn't do anything last year against Auburn and despite poor coaching, they almost won. Even with a loss to UCLA, it's apparent this team is better coached. I've witnessed Neuisheisel hold USC to 9 points. We've witnessed Tennessee score less than 9 against Wyoming. Losing to Neuheisel is nothing to be embarrassed about. Chizik on the other hand really is that bad. When he was co-defensive coordinator for Texas, Texas didn't win that championship because of his coaching. Texas allowed 38 points.

All you had to do to glean the truth Saturday was observe Kiffin's facial expresssions. He's in utter disbelief that an SEC has quarterbacks this awful

I thought this was telling, he was absoluely stunned. You could see Reaves veins about explode. Its not like UCLA players were breaking on the ball, they just sat on routes and sha-bang. I have to admit though, he's hitting those defenders in the chest with a tight spiral. So thats a positive...

IMO, if someone basis their decision on going to a game by whether they think their team will win or lose, they are a fair weather fan. Hatevol said in an earlier post that he wouldn't have gotten on the plane to Miami that year if he didn't think the Vols had a chance to win.
I initially thought you were just a dense Fulmerite. Now, I realize you're simply an imbecile. Why would I go hang out in cesspool like Gainesville to watch UT get their collective skull cracked? If you want to waste a Saturday hanging around white trash in jorts and wifebeaters doing the Gator Chomp, have at it. Just know it doesn't make you a good fan. It makes you a lemming.

I wouldn't be surprised if UT goes 0 for the rest of the season.
I wouldn't be surprised if they were 6 and 6.
I wouldn't be surprised if they beat Alabama or Georgia or both.
I wouldn't be surprised if they lose or win........they are just that unpredictable.

What did coaching have to do with our loss to UCLA?

"I wouldn't be surprised if they lose or win" might be the best thing i've ever read on this board.

Is being a "good" fan saying UT has no chance this weekend and anyone who goes is wasting their time?

Being a realist doesn't make you a bad fan...

As long as i've been on this board, Hat has been realistic. brutally so at times. i'm blinded by my own orange faith sometimes... example: i think we have an outside shot of winning saturday.

It makes you a lemming.
I don't know.... Some people love sports that much. If you have the time and money, why not? Most people didn't believe Giants had a chance in hell to beat the undefeated Patriots. They were steam rolling over everyone. Could imagine if a Giants fan with the money and possibility of buying a ticket thought that way? I know the Super Bowl is a bigger stage but if they thought like that, they would have missed maybe the biggest upset in the history of sports. Odds are Tennessee won't win. We all know this. It would just be awesome to witness the upset in the rare chance it happened. Maybe Tebow throws a couple of interceptions for touchdowns. Maybe Tebow gets hurt. Maybe, Crompton gets injured and Stephens comes out and actually hits guys on their numbers. There are so many things that could happen. Again though, some people really do just love football and are willing to watch their team get slaughtered in hopes they could witness a huge upset. Florida isn't that far of a trip.

I totally agree I wouldn't want to hang around Florida fans though. Personally, I generally prefer watching games on tv unless I have great seats. You get a better view of the game, you don't have to sit out in the hot sun, beer and food is cheaper. Anyways, I am just saying I don't think everyone goes to games just to go. Some people have faith. Even if it's miss guided. Never say never in sports. The Patriots come back against the Bills? Good thing they didn't call the game off in the final few minutes. That game should have been over. Believe....

P.S. I hate the Patriots.

Well then I'm glad we do have some imbecile fans, it would be a shame if no Vols attended the game.
