I live down here and the AU fans I talk to are not that crazy about their chances this year. They are nowhere near as optimistic or as exited about the future with Cheesit as we are (for the most part anyway) with our new staff. They do look better on offense to me so far but see WKU results for us as comparison.
I can't believe how many people are predicting a loss to Auburn. I think UCLA is a better team and they are certainly a better coached team. I'll say this.... if Tennessee loses to Gene Chezik I will probably give up on this season. They probably won't even finish .500 if they do. Tennessee lost by 2 to Tommy Tuberville last year. He is a good coach. Chezik may be the worst coach in all of college football. He is certainly in the bottom 10 imo. He is not good.

Here's the reason.. because Crompton is THAT bad
What does that say about Mullen and MSU then?
Well he was only 8/23 for 67 yards last year against Auburn. He didn't do anything and Tennessee almost against a much better coach in Tommy Tuberville. I just don't see how Tennessee could play that bad against Auburn against this year with our coaching staff and Chezik at the helm for Auburn.
I am not going to guarantee a win but I will predict a Tennessee win. I believe they should win it. Neuheisel's defense and Chow's offense is far superior to anything Auburn has to offer coaching wise.
Hey if Crompton would have just done that against UCLA we would have won..
I just gave you my reasoning though. Neuheisel and Chow are good coaches. Nueheisel'a defense slaughtered USC's offense a couple of years again. Chizik is awful. There is nothing good about him or anyone on his coaching staff.
Tuberville's staff > Fulmer's staff. Last year at least.
Kiffin's staff > Chezik's staff.
I think coaching alone wins this game. Tennessee scored 7 and 13 last year against Wyoming and N. Illinois. If they lose to Auburn by 2, I just see no reason they won't beat Chizik. Chizik is garbage.
Just because someone is being realistic on their team's chances against an opponent doesn't mean they're a fair weather fan
I think its time to start speaking in the past tense.I agree that Crompton has potential. Thats what is so frustrating... can't get it together in the big games. For the record, I have always liked Crompton personally, really hate that things have turned out the way they have; its a shame. There aren't many top high school QBs that grew up bleeding orange.
If we don't turn the ball over and can at least change fields on most possessions we'll keep it under the spread. If florida has to march 80+ yards every possession they won't score 40.
IMO, if someone basis their decision on going to a game by whether they think their team will win or lose, they are a fair weather fan. Hatevol said in an earlier post that he wouldn't have gotten on the plane to Miami that year if he didn't think the Vols had a chance to win.
Why would someone deal with the wear and tear of travel, dealing with idiotic gator fans, and spending money when they already know what the end result will be.. It's almost like wasting money to go see an M. night Shyamalan or Tyler Perry movie.. we already know how it's going to end so why not watch it for free on the box?
