Kiffin Blown Away By Hatred For Crompton.

Crompton may be new to Kiffin, but he's been around for 5 years. We've seen this script before with JC. Maybe Kiffin can do something with him. They at least have some film they can look at and see that he obviously stares his receivers down and makes the wrong read half the time.[/QUOTE]

that's a fact my friend:good!:

He is a college kid giving his all for the team and the university. People like you should crawl back under the rock you slithered out from under.Get a life and shut up!

Hey genius, the note was to Kiffin regarding his being "blown away" by the fans reactions.

And I have a wonderful life. Obviously it's better than yours based on simple comprehension abilities.

I saw that. He looked like he was prepared for a lot of situations but what he was seeing wasn't on the list.

Exactly, i believe Kiffin thought JC would make a few mistakes here & there but i think Kiffin never thought it would snow ball the way it did. It was like Kiffin saw a completely different Crompton out their from Spring & Fall practice & he didnt know how it happened.

I was really hard on JC and now that I've chilled a little from the game . I really wish the kid well and hope he makes me eat crow. GO VOLS!

That's fine but the topic here is the personal crap he's gotten from some of the lunatic fringe so called fans. That's uncalled for. If he can't get the job done put somebody else in at that position and move along. All the name calling and death threats shouldn't be happening.

My respect for Coach Kiffin just went up several notches.

Based on quite a few of the posts I've seen on this site, hate is probably a fair word to use. It's unfortunate that some fans can't separate their dissatisfaction with a player's performance from the actual person.

.....don't hammer him like he isn't a human being. Use the "Golden Rule" and treat him as if you'd want your son or daughter to be treated, please.

Kiffin simply is surprised that fans are that angered and irate over the play of a 22 year old amateur athlete...

These are good posts and/or thoughts.

This is a young man who is trying to get it done. If he can't do the job, criticize the QB's play, demand better play, demand a new QB, or whatever other course of action that you think would make the team better.

But it may be wise to criticize the QB play and not the kid.

He obviously thought that as a 5th year senior he had a better head on his shoulders. Obviously he thought wrong.

I'd just like to know what these coaches see in Crompton in practice that doesn't show up on game day that they continue to make him a starter?

Does he have something on someone? Hamilton maybe?

If I was going to the game in the Swamp I think I would make up a sign that reads "The boys from Stinking Creek are here. Better lace 'em up tight"!!!!!!!

I like Crompton, I was waiting to see what he would do under a "Lane Kiffin" coach. He just bothers me sometimes because it seems that he actually thinks he is better than he really is. He cannot win games for us, but he can keep us from losing in many ways...manage the feakin game!

Yes, I'm pulling for compton, whoever he is, and Crompton, also.

I've not been particularly pleased with his QB play, to put it mildly.

But I don't criticize his mental capabilities, call him names or wish bad things on him. Or some of the other things I've read here.

He's a kid, or a very young man.

I'll have to have some royalities from the use of any such sign as that.

Hate is too strong a word. People want to see a competent player at the QB position for a change and get emotional.

Hate isn't too strong of a word when people are ripping him on facebook, calling him "Crapton" and other personal attacks, acting as if he is somehow purposefully "doing it to them", and even making death threats.

Not to mention he's a fifth year senior who obviously loves the school and has waited for his turn to play. I feel badly for him and hope he pulls it all together and has a great season the rest of the way.

Right on. He is our QB...and he is a VOL for goodness sake! EVERYONE in the Orange Nation should be pulling for JC to do a 180 this season. If not, then you aren't a true fan. He's got the talent--all it's going to take is for a few good things to happen and things could change fast in Gainesville. GO VOLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It shouldn't be personal, but the guy needs to step aside. Not everyone is equipped to play QB in a top div 1 program. Its time to start fresh& cowboy up.

why should he step aside when he beat every QB on UT and UTC's roster for the job? He may be the best of the worst but still the best we have

I'm showing my age but I have one question for those of you that have been around awhile. Was Darrell Dickey the best QB on the roster in 1985/86 and the great sugar bowl conquest? The guy had minimal physical attributes, but had a head for the game unlike JC.
