JC is our QB. NS isn't any better. If he had been better, he would have won the job in camp. We seem to forget that CLK learned from Norm Chow so UCLA had a pretty good idea of what we were gonna do. On some plays it seemed as though they had been in our huddle. Props to UCLA for showing up. Props to Monte's D for playing balls out for 4 quarters. Once again, we just don't have the talent on O to compete every Saturday. With this freshman class and hopefully a strong close on 2010's, we will be well on our way. Our defense will have to keep it respectable in some coming games--namely Florida, poss. Georgia(depending on which GA team shows up), Bama, and maybe even S. Carolina and Auburn if their offenses show up. We can keep it close if the scores are around 20, but start pushing the 30's and we are gonna have problems. That will all change when we start getting the top tier talent on campus again. This is just another example of how complacent CPF's regime had gotten in everything they did--especially in recruiting. It was more than evident yesterday. We are a lot like UCLA's team and they have had 2 good recruiting classes under CRN, and it is paying dividends. They still have a long way to go, but the base is there and their youth looked good yesterday. I think next season will be better and 2011 should really put us back on the map. But, judging from yesterday, we still have miles to go. The offensive talent/depth--ESPECIALLY our OL--just isn't there. We're getting there at RB and WR, but experience will do wonders with both units. Other than that, we have slim pickings on offense. Once again, kudos to our defense--they kept us in the game and shouldn't be a weakness for us for years to come...
