I've always been a little worried about this guys coaching ability, I know he is a great recruiter and I know that JC is terribad, but is it just me or could this guy also be a little bit responsible for the performance tonight? His only coaching job is QB's so i would imagine he spends more time with JC than anyone else. Look at how much better Garcia is playing tonight. I know hes family and all and it may be too soon to tell but so far hes not doing so hot.
Reaves has little to do with a player that doesn't execute on gameday in my opinion. The weak part of the staff is Crompton.
I don't think any coach could turn JoJo Crompton into the world-beater we hoped for today. It sure as hell didn't help his fragile psyche when the fanbase booed him. Reaves deserves a lot more than Crompton and 2 games to decide whether he is competent.
Reaves was the recruiting coordinator for Spurrier at South Carolina. Get off of his back. It's not his fault that he doesn't have a competent QB to work with right now.
because he couldnt make a mental midget a competent and confident QB?
He looks just like last year and Reeves didn't work here then. Coaching can only accomplish so much. At the end of the day, JC has to read the field and make the throws and he has shown no ability to do that.
I agree, I think it's fair to expect our QB play would improve with a new staff. It hasn't.
I know the coach can't take the field for the QB, but it's no longer the system that is screwing Crompton up, he's just not seeing the field very well at all -- missing wide open receivers, forcing the ball, not seeing DBs. That stuff should be correctable IMO. At least kept to a bare minimum. We have two QBs also. If you can't coach one up to where you want him, at some point don't you have to start working on the other one?
