Premiere League & World Soccer Thread

Said it at the start of the game and I’ll say it again, you don’t beat PSG by falling into a low block. You have to attack them and play courageously to make them as uncomfortable as you can. If you don’t have the quality in your squad to go after them then that’s one thing, but Arsenal do and decided to mostly sit back once they had the lead and then sat back even more from halftime on. These graphics tell the story.

They are now doing some FIFA style voodoo with tickets for Friendlies. The last couple of weeks I have been looking daily at tickets for Norway’s match tomorrow.

As of yesterday there was a boatload of non resale tickets for $90 to $110. Today it is mostly resale and the cheapest are $215.

Damn - christian eriksen collapsed on pitch again
Surely this has to be the end for his playing career. He’s 34, so it’s not as if retirement would be that far down the road even if he were completely healthy, which obviously he isn’t.

Hope he’s going to be okay though. Reports made it sound like he was at least conscious as he was leaving the pitch, so hopefully this isn’t as serious as the last time.

Damn. I watched the first half only so didn’t see it. I was watching the Euro match when it happened.
I’ll never forget the first time it happened. Supposedly he is conscious but I’d probably hang up the boots if I were him and enjoy his earnings.

So West Ham’s co-owner has been banned from contact with the women’s and youth teams and banned from matches for three years and it is just now coming out.

@Charlie Kelly looks like Palhinha is going home to Sporting. As much as I wanted him back, this is good for both sides.

I will always be a big fan, great one season player. Probably in the Championship without him.
I saw that. I was really hoping we would hang onto him. We’re definitely in the Championship without him.

What are your thoughts on Brighton trying to take Vuscovic? I know he hasn’t played for us yet but I really hope we aren’t dumb enough to let a 19 year old defender who made the Bundesliga team of the season on loan last season leave for 30m. I feel like there’s a decent chance he’ll be worth 80+ in a couple of years.

I think there is no chance even Spurs brass are stupid enough to sell him for 30m.

I prefer to keep him and would like to see him in the club next season, but he would get little playing time especially if they sign van Hecke. Extend and loan again is preferable, but I don’t know if he would go for that.

Yeah I think what’s best for Tottenham is a PL loan for one year before integrating him into the starting lineup. That may not be what he wants to do though.

If he shows out at the WC, I say we forget about Van Hecke and just go ahead and play him. Even if we sell Romero, we’d still have Danso, Senesi and Van de Ven to pair with Vuscovic. That’s pretty solid considering we don’t have Europe next season.

Quick "cool story bro." My son went up against Yan Diomande (#11 for Ivory Coast) 3 years ago when Yan played for DME Academy in Daytona. He locked him up (my son is #2) so they moved Yan to the other side of the field. Yan then had 2 goals and an assist in the last 30 minutes. Crazy to think a few years later that he is one of the top young players in the sport and most big clubs trying to sign him. To this day my son smiles when he tells people he pocketed Yan for 60 minutes. And when I say pocketed, I mean it. 0 shots, one cross, and Yan was frustrated. His coach pulled him aside during water break to calm him down before moving him out to the left for the balance of the game.
