back then the American bit was we would work with anyone willing to buy our stuff. we didn't play favorites, we were neutral. at the same time we were running plants in Germany we were helping the Soviets build their industry, They had plants in almost literally every western European nation, and in some Eastern. Had plants in pretty much every major British territory across the globe, in South America, Latin America, a couple in Asia (Japan mostly) and even one in Africa.

Uh we were the "Arsenal of Democracy" according to FDR. There were Nazi supporters in 1939, they held a huge rally in Madison Square Garden. Henry Ford was a HUGE supporter of the Naziand a Democrat. The U.S. condemned the Nazis from the beginning o the war. And actively from 1940.

Germany was never going to invade. they couldn't even take out the British Isles, but somehow they were going to cross the entire Atlantic? that is just pure fairly tale gobbledy gook. The Germans never even developed a bomber that would have reached the US, yet alone carried a payload that would have done real damage.

Japan was stretched with just their Pacific holdings, and their plan for invading the main land was to take the Aleutian Islands, and that did not go well for them, it was impossible for them to keep their troops there supplied, and that was before America woke up.
