Sleeper pick: Jordan Spieth. He’s been driving it on a string. If he can get hot with the flat stick, watch out.

Also, think Matt Fitzpatrick, Cam Young, and Justin Thomas can win this. All 3 are playing really good golf. Matt and Cam are at the top of their games, and Justin is rounding into form. It is gonna be a great major.
Spieth is my favorite player, and I'd love to see him win it and complete the career grand slam. No matter how well he plays right now though, he can't put together enough multiple strong rounds to win. He is also going on a string of at least 4 or 5 weeks where he'll be having a great round and then give away 3-4 strokes on the final 4 or 5 holes of a round to completely destroy his chances of winning (often in two or more rounds of a single tournament).

Squirrel was just okay here. He was almost non-existent at Florida State (5 receptions for 52 yards and 0 TD's).

Florida State's ROI on Squirrel White NIL was atrocious.
He was great for a true freshman and then was fine his sophomore year. Actually made a couple of spectacular catches. Just fell off. Would have been a great 2/3 WR with his sophomore production of 800 yards.

Okay, but Matt Fitzpatrick has been outplayed by his brother Alex over the last several weeks.

Damn. I didn't realize he was such a non-factor this past season.

Dude was never going to be an NFL player at his size.

Whether or not the difference in money he got at FSU was worth his VFL card is for future Squirrel to decide I guess.

Yeah I know. That’s why I said sleeper pick. He’s driving the ball fantastic and with a ton of confidence. If the rest of his game could come together, he has the experience to do it. I think Rickie Fowler will contend too. He’s been playing well. If I had to make a pick who wins, hard to go against Scottie the way he’s been playing…but I’ll choose Fitzpatrick.

The TV overreactions by the media are overreactions. The Giants have broken .500 ONCE in the last 10 years. They've broken .600 TWICE since 1994.

4th of the way through his first season and they're at .415. If the Giants are competent they'll give him 3 seasons to rebuild the roster and build a culture.

I heard the state has been tagging and removing black bears from the Smokies and other areas, and dropping at Dayton mountain. Anybody know? Some people who live and hike there are less than enthusiastic, I heard. Maybe others are, idk.

I feel like he got worse as his career went on. He flashed superstar potential occasionally but couldn't be consistent.

No way that's happening.

I'm not sure why "rebuild the roster" is being thrown in there. Not to call you out specifically, I've just seen it mentioned a bunch of times over the last few days.

Tony V has nothing to do with that. The roster belongs to Buster Posey, another person who is inexperienced and over their skis in his current role.

You can just add "building a roster" to the long list of skills Tony has that won't help him in an MLB clubhouse.

Squirrel's touches here were schemed throws using his speed to get in space, typically straight line down field. He wasn't winning one in one match ups straight up very often at his size.

I’m going to give Squirrel White some praise. He made a lot of catches in 3 years. Played his heart out. Played hurt when his team needed him. His biggest catches went for TDs against Clemson in the ’22 Orange Bowl (the crazy waddle celebration) and at Bama in ’23.

He was supplanted by redshirt freshman Braylon Staley headed into the ‘25 season.

Saturday he left during practice with the Bears with 2 trainers, and yesterday Chicago placed him on their reserve/retired list — an official NFL designation for a player who retires while under contract. It allows the team holding the contract to retain the rights to the player if he returns to active status.

He was injured in NFL practice the other day, and left the field with a trainer. Placed on injured reserve.

I never knew NFL teams teams placed ordinary citizens that aren't NFL players on injured reserve.
