When I was younger, we played all the cheap courses all the time. We had funny names for them..Moccasin Bend (Sewer Bend as it is next to water treatment plant and stank), Hickory Valley was Skeeter Valley for the mosquitos, Concord was Concrete because it is hard as a rock.

Growing up, I was able to play at a golf course in Elizabethton that was $5 for all the golf you want to play. Also played at Warriors Path in Kingsport. That was a fairly nice course. Didn't have funny names for them though.

I grew up in West TN but my older brother and I went to UT. My brother has a now long time college friend from Kingsport. I’ve played Warriors Path multiple times. I played with a group in the old Buick scramble that would be played at Warriors. One year, we qualified for playing at the Hermitage in Nashville. Hopefully, I remember names, but I played Cattails, something Mill in Morristown, Island Pointe in Kodak, and I think Eagle’s Landing in Sevierville.

Do you remember or did you hear about the time Dolly turned down doing a duet with George Jones? He got all the other country stars of the time to sing a song with him on stage in response.

Country music and it's culture was a lot cooler back then. Now we have Post Malone, Hootie, and Beyonce singing "country",

Got to go to the Fender Concert at Ryman last week and it was great. Zack Top was there and he is definitely an ode to the good old days of country music. Jack White was awesome too….

Sleeper pick: Jordan Spieth. He’s been driving it on a string. If he can get hot with the flat stick, watch out.

Also, think Matt Fitzpatrick, Cam Young, and Justin Thomas can win this. All 3 are playing really good golf. Matt and Cam are at the top of their games, and Justin is rounding into form. It is gonna be a great major.

He was pretty good as a sophomore. Kinda carried the WR core. He would have left here a fondly remembered player.
