4 Vols in the 1st round?

Guess round 2 belongs to the Vols

As far as McCoy. I posted I'd be hesitant to pick him high in the 1st round as some had him or 1st round at all coming off an ACL and then didn't play the following season, no combine but only a Pro Day

Looks like the knee report may be a real issue. I thought Hood had a chance going late first.
Some weird picks this draft. Not a fan of Titans picking Tate. Ty Simpson was weird also.

As bad as the Jets are they made solid picks, they say next year is a better year for QB's
I'm not shocked at all McCoy fell out of the 1st. NFL GMs have been shying away from taking injured players in the 1st. I'm a Titans fan and the Farley and Burks pick still gives me nightmares.

Bottom line is you win with Jimmy and Joes. Sure coaching is important, but Indiana, had 2 first round picks. When was the last time Indiana had one 1st round pick?

I just heard the Big 10 had more first rounders than the SEC . Corresponds to the Big 10 winning the last 3 nattys.
NIL changed the CFB landscape. Those Big Ten schools have the money and it shows.

Dolphins will feel beyond stupid Jermod was sitting there still at 27 somehow and picked WHO lmao
Maybe not.
Why waste a 1st on a guy who's been out year and possible out most of the first NFL year and not knowing if doesn't lose a step or scared of his knee vs taking a guy that's played and you have a better idea of what you have.

Yeah I'm not shocked either. I didn't think he'd go as high as many where saying. I thought maaaaaaybe late but I was thinking day 2.
Titan fans on reddit seem to like the Tate pick or they have their blue tint shades on. I'm skeptical and probably would've gone another route.

I like Tate as a player. Would have no issues seeing him in the colors of any team I am rooting for. At #4 (I think?);though, I agree was a bit of a stretch

Tate benefited greatly from coming out in a year where there were so few sure sure top end guys

Caleb Banks was picked 14th, and just had foot surgery. I've given up on the Titans. They're not serious about winning.

Of course, no one cares about the second round. Not so much money versus first round.
Not as much money but you get to that 2nd contract faster. And honestly, if you go to the right team, it’s a blessing to not be a first rounder sometimes.

Cooper DeJean and Nick Emmanwori both won SB’s their rookie seasons and were 2nd round picks. There’s still a ton of value out there and not just the UT corners slipped.

Actually the Titans have faired better with second round picks vs first in the recent past. Both Brown and Henry were 2nd round pics. Both are the best offensive players on the Titans over the last 8 years or so

If McCoy would have returned after he was cleared and showed his knee was strong he would have probably been a first rounder. But he took care of himself and now can take a pay dip.
In hindsight did he really take care of himself or just hurt his draft prospects

I think the 4, 1st rounders will be Nate Ament , Felix Okpara, Jacoby Gillespie & long shot Grant Hurst that's my 1st round predict...
I may just get 1 right and still beat this thread. :D

Its a tale as old as time. You go off the talent. NFL has a long history of overthinking the easy. What round did Trey smith laughably go to?

Yep. Only way a player that missed the entire season before the draft due to injury goes in the 1st is if they are a generational talent or blew everyone away at the Combine.

I suspect they’ll have a sudden turnaround once the new stadium opens. The league seems to have a deep playoff run reserved for teams who are able levy taxes on their place of residence.

I think he must have hidden his lingering knee issues to pull one over on the NFL, but it caught up to him anyway.
I don’t think McCoy was trying to deceive doctors lol. The tests came back and said the ACL is fine but a different part of his knee could be at risk.

I feel awful for him. I know people are mad he didn’t play last year but he didn’t do anything wrong.

Being cleared to play and being cleared to perform are very, very different scenarios. Especially if he’s still having lingering issues.

So McCoy’s doctors don’t know what they’re doing?

I’m confused as to how he could be oblivious to the cause of ongoing swelling while some NBA doctors caught it within a couple weeks. There is some logic missing in the events which occurred over the past 6 months.

I’ve not read anything about anyone from McCoy’s team sharing any ongoing medical issues. So either he knew the cause of the swelling or there is a reason that some NBA doctors caught it while McCoy’s surgeon did not.. Or McCoy’s surgeon did catch it and McCoy chose not to disclose it.

This cost McCoy millions, so someone is at fault..
