2026 Vols Transfer Portal Thread

Well, I think some of those seniors are out of eligibility and the others didn’t get a ton of playing time.

Miles is out even with 5 year... McGlockton and Okereke are the only other 2 left. It's odd because I thought with how that roster is built they were expecting the 5 year to pass and move forward with returning everyone they could.

Tanner, Okereke, McGlockton, Bing are it from that roster and 2 of them won't have eligibility without the 5th year passing. I'm...baffled Tanner wants to return to that team.

Sounds like you listening to every word. I don’t blame you, because he’s been spit on. I can’t tell you the number of fakes that listen to his show and then immediately run to social media to post “updates” as if they are in the know.

My experience on this forum is that people are polarizing and annoying. So, you play the hand you’re dealt.
Has he been spot on because he knows and has a real pulse on things, or has he been spot on because he regurgitates things he sees elsewhere (like here, perhaps)? He is his own boss and isn't really accountable to anyone to be accurate or honest about his info or its source. I have always been in the camp that he has some level of program sources, but I also am aware of stuff he has lifted verbatim from this very site. So I take everything he says with a grain of salt and try to parcel out what I believe to be true and what I choose to be skeptical of.

Not sure what to make of your last statement. Not sure what point its attempting to make as it relates to Basilio.

I guess it’s just his familiarity with the program and loyalty. If he came to Tennessee, he’d have to build chemistry with an entirely new roster as well. I think his decision to stay is almost exclusively about how much he likes being at Vandy and his commitment to them. Which….respect I suppose. Not easy in this era. Few players would choose that.

Florida is going to be so dang good next year. Insane roster retention in the portal era. Convincing multiple potential draft picks to say no to going? Wild.

It's intentional, Golden is going to bail for the NBA and he's correctly told his squad to wait. Regular window closes...then only teams with coaches leaving will get to enter. It'll immediately drive up the price tag for any of those guys.

This forum would be so much better if you jack wagons would stick to posting your opinions on the thread topic and drop all the childish arguments. Why do some of you feel the need to be a self appointed hall monitor? If another poster gets on your nerves then block them and move on as nobody wants to read about why you don’t like another poster. TIFWIW, AARP
This has a bit of hall monitor tone to it.

It's odd...makes me wonder if Byington might me looking to move on from Vandy (NBA or another big job that might open up if someone else heads to the NBA)...seemed like last 2 years Byington was a lot quicker to build the roster in the portal than he has been this year.

Look at Vandy's roster...hes gonna have to do that there, too.

This is a good theory. Seems very likely.

Yeah...I could be completely wrong BUT seeing how they're working the portal, wouldn't surprise me.

Add Denzel who needs the 5th year to happen to even be eligible
Handlogten jumps in the portal, who also has no eligibility because he burnt a redshirt last year to win a Natty
And then Rioux enters...basically a giant walk-on for them

So none of the guys still on the roster are out of eligibility & Rueben is the only one declared for the draft (as of right now) even though everyone thinks this is Haugh's best shot to get drafted in the first round.

Still...Fland in the portal today is less valuable than if he enters in a few weeks when teams are really scrambling to fill out their 15 spots and honestly the only other 2 names with eligibility left that can demand much would be Haugh and Condon and both will have a long list of teams interested whenever they enter.

I know, I probably didn’t make it clear but that’s why I said “as well” and then talk about his loyalty. I think the only reason he’s electing to stay is he just simply loves Vandy and Byington and would feel bad about leaving. I don’t think it’s actually basketball reasons because I don’t think there is a good financial, basketball, or long term-development reason that would support staying at Vandy considering he could pick any team he wants and go there.

Interesting theory, but Haugh would probably be a 1st round pick. Why would he come back if he knew Golden was leaving? The others I can see.

Agree on that
