2026 Vols Transfer Portal Thread

Well, it wasn't in the SEC, but Bonke averaged more rebounds, blocks, and PPG than UT's starting center. He improved dramatically over the prior year. Bigs take longer to develop. He could be a very good center in a better conference this year. Apparently, MSU and Kansas think so and Izzo and Self seem to be pretty good judges of Big-man talent. Now money, as BTO points out could be another issue. Posters on Volnation seem to think NIL money this year is not a prohibiting factor, but maybe it is.

Been in the portal for nearly a month, whatever he's asking to commit is obviously a bit steep as even with Self and Izzo interested he took a visit to NC State still after visiting both.

Respectfully Santi was one of most conditioned athletes this conference has ever seen. He ran more steps all over than anyone. He was like RIP Hamilton and Reggie Miller in that regard, always running wing to wing and therefore wore down opponents.
You're not wrong. I love Santi. I'm not trying to say Lundblade can be Santi, I'm just saying you don't have to be a long, freaky athlete to be a good enough defender. Santi was elite for other reasons.

Lots of these latest portal additions are guys without eligibility left, so they will be hoping for that 5th year to pass.

Seth Trimble from UNC, Darrion Williams from NC State, Aidan Shaw from BC...lots and lots will probably continue to do this

Drew Fielder to Bama...that makes way more sense for a big addition.

6'10" 40.9% 3PT shooter and 14.7ppg

Also Auburn bringing in some size.

Dowd at 6'8"
Freeman at 6'10"
Oboye at 7'1"

Freeman left Auburn. Signed with Texas. Sebastian Williams Adams also just hit portal from Auburn. One we should look at if adding another post.

Ok he is definitely a worse player than Sebastian.

Not sure, Freeman was pretty good at Iowa in his first 2 seasons before getting hurt. Even in limited minutes he still scored 5ppg and grabbed 4rpg. Sebastian played 16mpg more and only averaged 7ppg and 3.5rpg.

Haven’t gone back too many pages, what’s everyone feeling on Juke? Vol lock? Where we at? Suppose we will definitely know by tomorrow correct?

Between Hastings and Bamgboye, with the way our roster is being constructed, I'd rather add the 6'11 guy.

Hastings is the more polished scorer inside and better rebounder. On the other hand Bamgboye is taller, a much better free throw shooter, and a good shot blocker. Hastings is a decent shot blocker too at 1.5 bpg, but Bamgboye averages more at 1.7 blocks while only averaging 16 minutes per game.

Right now, we really need someone to play behind Rubin at the 5 and be a rim protector in case he is injured or in foul trouble. Dewayne Brown already does what Hastings does at the 4. If Hastings wants to come in and compete for minutes there, I'd happily welcome it. But Jalen Haralson will also be logging minutes at the 4, especially if we get Juke Harris. And with Haralson and Harris being 6'7, I think I'd rather have a 6'11 guy be availble to be on the floor with them.
Yeah, you know, a lot of guys do well at 6'8" or 6'9", and have some good stats, but when they come up against a really skilled big man, they can struggle greatly. Next game they are putting up big stats again. So, I am not sure we can really compete at the highest level without some major height, or at least a good combo of height and strength (weight).

You can wear down a big guy pretty quickly if you are up and down the court a lot, but I'm not sure we will ever have that style of game with Rick Barnes.

I'd take Robert Miller III from LSU in a heartbeat, a bit surprised he's not visiting anywhere yet.

6'10" 230lbs, former top 65 player has played 63 games but just 17.5mpg despite shooting 63.7% FG and having an effective FG% over 64% he wasn't seeing anymore opportunities. Per 40 has him as a 12.6ppg, 8rpg, 3bpg

Considering how bad McMahon was at LSU I think quite a few of his former players have a lot of untapped talent.

Totally agree. According to Basilio we have roughly 7 to 9 million left after adding hopefully Juke Harris.
He might be looking for a guaranteed starting spot and maybe hes a bit redundant because we have Dewayne Brown, but if we could convince him i still think its a great fit. I guess it depends do we want someone closer to 7 foot or do we not mind an undersized guy like him at that spot

They also have very different builds. Santi was 6’2 and had 4 years in our elite strength and conditioning. I expect Lundblade to add more mass this offseason, but theres only so much you can do with six months of strength and conditioning and his frame.
