3rd year 7'2' 270lbs Center that took more than half of his shots from 3 while only grabbing 8.3 rebounds and getting 1.5 blocks a game in the American conference just doesn't seem like a fit for the SEC or Barnes' system.Still don't understand why UT has no interest in Anton Bonke. MSU and Kansas are both interested in him.
Doesn’t block or rebound at the rate you’d want someone 7’+ to, but he does score it very well and efficiently.@Vols410 what does Julius Halaifonua look like in the advanced metrics you have shared?
He looks promising with his % and production for the limited minutes played.
I guess it's just me, but I don't care if they are hiding in coach Barnes' ceiling. Just give the info, and I'm happy.I know you’re being sarcastic, but they essentially do the same thing. Regurgitate others info and claim it as their own. I don’t care if posters bring other’s info..just cite where you got it from.

Well, it wasn't in the SEC, but Bonke averaged more rebounds, blocks, and PPG than UT's starting center. He improved dramatically over the prior year. Bigs take longer to develop. He could be a very good center in a better conference this year. Apparently, MSU and Kansas think so and Izzo and Self seem to be pretty good judges of Big-man talent. Now money, as BTO points out could be another issue. Posters on Volnation seem to think NIL money this year is not a prohibiting factor, but maybe it is.3rd year 7'2' 270lbs Center that took more than half of his shots from 3 while only grabbing 8.3 rebounds and getting 1.5 blocks a game in the American conference just doesn't seem like a fit for the SEC or Barnes' system.
Hell if he wasn't 7' and 250lbs+ I don't think he'd be rates as high as he is in the portal
Respectfully Santi was one of most conditioned athletes this conference has ever seen. He ran more steps all over than anyone. He was like RIP Hamilton and Reggie Miller in that regard, always running wing to wing and therefore wore down opponents.Totally disagree.
1. I don't think Lundblade is as unathletic as you seem to think
2. Santi wasn't super athletic, but with Barnes he was one of the best defenders in the country
Lundblade will start and ball out here.
I was at a few games this year. Lipscomb grad here. This is tiresome to see over and over. His job at Belmont was to fill it up, not be a Mashack. Did you watch any Belmont games? They are in my backyard. I’ve also known Casey going all the back to his HS days playing at BA and summer ball playing against him as well as helping with his clinics back to when he was at Lipscomb.
Belmont played a sagging man help defense trying to force the opponent to shoot over them. Much like a matchup zone with man principles.
That's kinda what I figured, which is what I had him pegged as...another version of Rubin.I don’t think he’s some star, would be a depth piece at the 5 in a very similar mold to Rubin. Mainly a lob threat, put back dunker, he’s actually pretty solid from the FT line, a solid rebounder, but best attribute is his block rate which is among the tops in the nation similar to Rubin. Again, don’t think he’d be an all conference guy, but would be another post body and 5 fouls that can protect the rim.
7 feet tall with a negative defensive impact. Yikes. Really good offensively though.@Vols410 what does Julius Halaifonua look like in the advanced metrics you have shared?
