The Official Ole Miss @ Tennessee Series Thread (Fri. April 17 6:30PM ET) (Sat. April 18 4PM ET) (Sun 1PM ET) (All Games SECN+)

Anyone who watches baseball would tell you Ole Miss is one of the hottest teams in the country right now. The goal was always not to get swept. Now we have our backs against the wall tomorrow, but let’s not act like we’re playing a scrub.
I think the problem with the fan base is that when you have had these back to back top recruiting classes, you shouldn’t be having to hope to not be swept..

Wayyy too many games this year where a team blows it open late. Gotta finish ball games and gotta learn how to situationally hit. If Brown can’t pitch, idk what he provides you to this team. Clark is killing you, Marin isn’t consistent, ford has sucked in sec play, I mean it’s just bad offense 1-9

I can’t disagree with you. I think Ford, Brown and Clark all need total resets. I am not sure how you accomplish that but if I were the coach they would sit for a game or two.

Ford caught a bad break with that long illness. It made him drop 20 pounds and it’s basically killed his power. And he was the only reliable source of power in the lineup.

I think we just have to accept this is not our year. Maybe we find a way to sneak into the tournament but we aren’t going to last long if we do. Just gotta go recruit in the offseason and hope it leads to a nice year 1 to year 2 turnaround like what Michael Earley has done at Texas A&M.

I would only add, hit the weight room. Fill out the uniform, we got some guys but…hopefully these young men show up with bad intentions tomorrow.

The goal, at home, was to not get swept??? Really??? Whose goal was that?

I’m not a frequent poster and this is my first post in the baseball forum, but my frustration level is exceedingly high. I have two concerns with this team and coaching staff.
1) There are no signs of improvement in any facet of this team. That is not an indication of good coaching. In actuality, it appears there are more signs of regression.
2) Elander may turn out to be a good, if not, great coach, however, IMO, I think TV elevated the program to a level that a coach shouldn’t be “learning on the job”.

Welcome to the forum!

Man, I thought last weekend was a turning point for y’all. A solid series sweep against a top 10 Bulldogs team on the road, and things were looking good. Ole Miss has been on a heater, but I honestly thought y’all would win the series. Unfortunately, it’s just the same problems resurfacing that keeps y’all from being consistent winners at this point. The talent is there, so I’m not sure what to say.

LSU is in the same boat, and probably even a little worse off. We’re getting smoked right now, and I’m guessing we’re likely going to get swept again… at home. Sucks. I’m thinking 15 SEC wins will get both teams into the post season. So 8 more for y’all I believe, and 9 for LSU. That’s a mighty tall task when looking at our schedules. The only unranked team left on the schedule for either of us is South Carolina for LSU. I think what pisses me off the most right now, is it looks like this LSU team has just quit already. As a fan, I’ll never quit on my Tigers, no matter how bad it gets. I expect they shouldn’t quit either.

I posted several weeks ago Ford would have some tough days if others don’t start hitting around him. First, he’s pressing. You see that with him chasing bad pitches. Second opponents are pitching him backwards & not really throwing a lot in the strike zone he can hit.
