Means Nothing!!

Question: I know there are "Vol Fans" that want to see CLK fail. Does that mean those same "Vols Fans" want UT to fail also? Confused?!?!
Great start to the season, Great start for our Vols.

I would contend there are zero Vol fans who want CLK to fail. Are there people who wish it? Sure, but they sure as heck aren't Vol fans

Why is this even necessary? You lose so much cred when you make D.A. statements like this. Tebow is the most accomplished quarterback to ever play in the SEC and phenomenal human being, we'd be LUCKY to have his backup. Also we played Western Kentucky so be careful about throwing stones...

'accomplished quarterback' I personally think he is a running back playing on a team that is stacked from top to bottom . This team , especially Percy Harvin , led HIM to a natinal championship ...a 1 loss national championship at that .

Lets not forget that they won a Nc with Leak as well .

Give him all of the football credit you want , but I think he is just a spoke in the wheel .

So evertime you hear Madonna sing 'Like A Virgin' ...be careful not to get toooo misty eyed ...someone may just give you a plaque.

Not that my input will add anything to what has already been said here, but here's my .0134567 cents!

Great Job VOLS!

It's nice to see a coach get worked up and fired up about his teams performance. When LK mentioned that there were things they saw that needed adjusting and stating that UT should have been up by 5 or 6 touchdowns at the half tells me that he is gearing up for SEC competition. If there is one thing that every SEC fan knows it's that small mistakes and missed opportunities come back to haunt you in SEC play!

Being this young and deep at a couple of positions is a nice feeling. Not getting to see much of EB today was disappointing, but there will be plenty of time for that throughout the season. Also both QB's showed poise and appeared to go through their reads. Both arms looked good, nice touch on Crompton's fades and Stephens has got a cannon.

It was exciting to see LK continuing to work his gameplan and not slow down. That really allowed the freshmen a chance to get out there and show us all what they have to offer, even if that meant putting 60+ on a team when they were beat after the 2nd quarter. During Fulmers time on campus there are only a couple of instances that even come to mind where a score was run up. The only two that come to mind for me were the 65-0 shellacking of Vandy in '94 and the game they mentioned today, the 70-3 romp over LA-Monroe in '00. Usually when the game was well in hand the team was put on autopilot, mass substitutions occurred and then it appeared like they shied away from attempting to score.

I think the most pleasant surprise was the emotion and camaraderie I saw on the sidelines. I have to say that when Trooper left I felt like the life had been sucked out of the team. I'm glad it's back!

I also believe I heard Andre Ware say today that he didn't expect UT to make it to a bowl this year, but I'm optimistic and think an 8-4 record is well within the teams grasp.

Well that's my rant. Thanks!

Don't say "We". You are not the same kind of Vol fan I am.

We are 1-0. We had 600 yards of offense. Proved to me we are improved. We will be at least 8-4 and maybe 9-3 that my friends is a improvement. I will take it.

If we would've won last year, we would've only done it by a couple of touchdowns. We absolutely dominated someone we were supposed to, which we haven't done in years.

Wacthing the game a few things really stuck out to me.

1. The running game, passing game and defense all looked good. It was typical in the 90's that we hung our hat on all three of these facets. We have had good teams since 2000, but usually those teams had a good passing attack and a D, but not a great running game. Granted, it was WKU, but watching the game I thought I was watching vols ball from the 1990's.

2. The players never let up. I think over the past few years, not only did the coaches let up, but the players fed off of this and let up too if we got any amount of lead. I liked this attitude and I think it will make a difference in those 4th quarters when we play Bama, UF etc.

3. Lane means business. Even in the fourth qtr, he was still intense. I'm not crowning us SEC champs, but I feel we are going to be competitive and relevant again in the SEC and national picture.

GO Vols!

Let me ask you this Volsrock DO you think WKU is that much worse than the Wyoming team that beat us last year. Now im not saying WKU would beat wyoming but they could play with them. Now we have took that team behind the woodshed and give them an old fashioned one. We have played far inferior teams in the past while foolmer was there and barely got out with a win. So dont say it means nothing.

Most accomplished?

Won a title as a backup, one as a starter and one Heisman? Please. Stop spewing for us the ESPN marketing gibberish.

By the by, did you see his backup yesterday? Do you think we would have won anything with Tebow?

Ok we all know this so, who cares? Quit acting like Fatty Phil. Have a little fun with the win and quit talking about Tebow and defending him, my god

A. I didn't bring it up, please try to pay attention.
B. How am I acting like Phil?
C. Who say's I'm not having fun - I'm ecstatic, I just think bashing Tebow is low rent.

ColonelVol, you're right. Save it for Vol Calls. I had an awesome gameday. The weather was awesome, fans excited and jovial, players and coaches pumped, great play calling, fun offense to watch, great defense and we called 3 timeouts before the first half ended to try and score. Next week should be even better !!! Can't wait.
