2026 Vols Transfer Portal Thread

I have zero clue if he's on our radar...if any of Barnes' people are here lurking though...

Isaac Celiscar 6'6" 210lb SO from Yale he's played 61 games already and is exactly what we're losing in Bishop/Evans. A do it all type

13.2ppg, 6.3rpg, 3.2apg, 0.7spg shot 57.3% FG, 40.7% 3PT and 79.8% FT dude has a high motor and IQ perfect "glue" guy

Compare Rubin’s numbers, both basic and advanced to Okpara’s…also, how are we going to possibly replace Boswell and Carey? See, that works both ways.
I’ve looked at Rubin’s stats and I’m not impressed. Scoring efficiency isn’t great across play types, and while the assist rate is great too many turnovers come with them. I much prefer Hines.

For their careers…

Okpara:
23mpg 6.4ppg 5.7rpg 1.7bpg 59%fg 56ast 129to

Rubin:
23.8mpg 9.0ppg 5.8rpg 2.3bpg 65%fg 148ast 162to

Yeah...I don't know that Rubin is for sure a day 1 starter type but as a big in the rotation he'd be a great addition.

My biggest concern with him is the absolute terrible FT% 53% for his career...Felix at UT was a 67.4% FT shooter

Yeah... my "ideal" situation

You land at least 1 top 10-15 portal target so far Diop, Juke, Johnson, Cyril are all top 15 names we've came up with interest in (maybe others I missed too). Tanner is obviously a top 10 target if he enters.

Then if you land another 16-50 ranked portal player you're feeling pretty good. Hill Jr, Hines, Burton, Evans Jr, Wilkins, Tiller all in that zone.

So from an expectations standpoint...1 top 15 guys and then 1 top 50 guy and then any additional top 100 or so players = gravy

Lundblade is 65th right now
Rubin is 73rd right now
Dai Dai is 81st right now

2025 portal season Michigan did this...

Yaxel - 1st rated
Morez - 40th rated
Mara - 50th rated
Cadeau - 64th rated

ESPN published its Top 40 list today and had Lundblade at #39. I was pretty happy to see that. If can get two more from this list, which I'm honestly not expecting, we'll be in phenomenal shape.

He's not quite as tall, but if we're looking for a healthier and higher effort JP type...

Tomislav Buljan from New Mexico, FR 6'9 250lbs
35 starts in 35 games, 26 mpg
13.1ppg, 10.3rpg, 1.5apg, 1.1spg, just 2 fouls a game, 54% FG, 30.8% 3PT, 60.7% FT

vs Nebraska 11 points 7 rebounds and shot 83.3% FG
vs Utah State 17 points, 7 rebounds shot 50% FG

85% FT? Won't that be refreshing! Juke and Ames can get to the basket while Lundy can contribute from outside. Kinda liking the way this picture is starting to look. Add Tanner with Henderson as a potential backup plus a rim protector and another economical outside threat....aw heck....fire up the money printer and just sign everyone.

It's a small sample size, but we do seem to be prioritizing good free throw shooters, which *ahem* makes sense after this past season.

Sorry...been looking at "fits"

Last one that's not on the list on 1st page but on paper looks like a perfect system fit

Javontae Campbell, SR (has 1 year left cause JuCo ruling) 6'2" PG from Bowling Green
64 games 63 starts, 32.4 mpg
past season: 18.7ppg, 5.1apg, 4.5rpg, 3.0spg, 2.8 turnovers 50% FG, 31.8% 3PT, 75.8% FT

speed, speed, speed, speed on both ends and can finish at the rim once he blows by slower guards

I will be the first to admit that I don’t have the Vol basketball connections I once had. However, I’ve heard nothing from Knoxville or Nashville, that says that TT is coming here. Where is everyone hearing this from?

I do know that TT didn’t get a first round grade in his evaluation from a few sources. Lots of factors shape this though. I believe he has late first rd ability.

Rubin:
23.8mpg 9.0ppg 5.8rpg 2.3bpg 65%fg 148ast 162to
1. The SOS is a major differentiator here
2. Considering they're both 35%+ FT rate guys, the 10-15% difference in FT% is a big deal.

I don't hate Rubin. I'd love to have him as a backup big, but he's a clear tier or two below someone like Okpara/Hines to me.
