Yep and I think he is mitigating the risk going after the big fish by targeting a number of good players at every position. Many of these guys are versatile as well and can play multiple roles. Heck even Lundblade despite being specifically a sniper can play both the 2 and 3 due to size. Expect to see more 3 guard lineups next year but we will also have the bigs to complement them.I for one greatly appreciate the effort from Barnes and staff to go after an elite roster. It is incredibly risky and if you fail it blows up in your face but I think we actually have the money to do it this year.
The evidence should be in the mass exodus of our current roster. To me that signals significant change. But that’s just me…
PG: Tyler Tanner
SG: Dai Dai Ames / Terrence Hill Jr
SF: Tyler Lundblade
PF:Thomas Dowd / DeWayne Brown
C: Najai Hines / Miles Rubin
Some **** like this. Yeah that’s not bad.
It certainly seems if Barnes were to get Aimes, Dowd, to go along with Lundblade none would be that "go to scorer" but would vastly improve number of offensive options.I like the Aimes pick up assuming he’s not one of the featured scorers. He would be a great depth piece and back up PG who can play about 20-25 MPG. I just wonder if he would be willing to come here as a role player instead of a starter.
I think the only spot you could really argue the team doesn't upgrade is SF... Lundblade isn't going to replace Ament
Tanner will be equal if not better than Ja'Kobi Dai Dai and/or Hill can produce better than Bishop (low bar) did. Dowd and Hines/Rubin should be able to match the production of Carey, JP, and Felix as well.

I mean it’s a good theoretically squad, but doesn’t scream top 5 team or super team as people were suggesting they were going to help Barnes put together. Probably a top 10 team on paper.Lmao not bad? I think you’re probably setting your expectations a touch high if that qualifies as “not bad” to you lol
Yea, I see him as a perfect Gainey type 6th man role. Can play backup PG, can be a scorer off the bench etc etc…we know Barnes isn’t telling a guy he is or isn’t a starter, but if he’s playing 25+mpg starting doesn’t much matter imo.I like the Aimes pick up assuming he’s not one of the featured scorers. He’s hyper sensitive. You have to be 100% sold on everyone we target or have visit or he will call you out lolYeah….like buddy said above, it’s probably a pipe dream.
Very good lineup. Not sure why BTO’s whiny ass called me out when there’s about 10 other people he could’ve called out crying over Ames.
You’re stuck on this big fish thing, let it go. We aren’t signing Tanner, Blackwell, Johnson, Juke, Bidunga & Diop. What’s funny? Unless he’s a bench player I don’t think he’s that great. Especially if we are going after “big fish” im not sold on him as a starting guard, I think we can do better tbh
